No water was added to the base tanks until today, as the top two inches were starting to feel dry a day after top watering.
The LED is one metre from the canopy and dimmed to its lowest intensity. The plants like it like that during veg. Much closer and they will start showing what looks like mg deficiency. I will not turn it to max until after about 4 weeks in bloom, gradually increasing each week until it reaches full brightness. I have a habit of lowering the light too soon, thinking it will increase productivity and reduce node lengths, but usually it has a negative affect and slows growth. I think in hydro it might be possible to have the lights lower due to plants effectively being force-fed - I guess you could increase CO2 and EC to compensate for the increased light, but in soil I think we need to be more careful, as we are more reliant on nature taking its course, or at least that's my bro science theory.
