maybe with drippers and things people might get different results.
I can`t see why you would but you never know. I knew a guy who swore by watering the coco numerous times daily improved his yields and another said different on an old forum i used, so i tried it a few times and no difference really. Tbh last year or so ive only water my plants every other day now in coco and get great results, in fact i got my result from my space doing this.

Summink similar but different i read about lack of irrigation for ya`s here i know you use ice water later in bloom to increase resin production and yield too, so maybe theirs a simpler way without causing too much stress like i would think ice cold water would do, so prolly a lesser yield, feck knows tbh.

Scroll down to lack or irrigation part tis a good read and says its tried and tested. https://www.alchimiaweb.com/blogen/impr ... trichomes/
I’ve been feeding once a week at the moment, the pots haven’t been drying out in that time so haven’t felt the need to feed more than that at the moment. Plus the root system is still growing into the pots so should be plenty of food in them still.
I’ll keep that in mind though to feed twice a week as they get bigger, guess that will help keep it all balanced nicely in the pots as well.

Thanks I’ll have a read of that now

Week 4

A+B = 1ml/L
Rootstim = 1ml/L
Fulvic = 1ml/L
Silicon = 0.4ml/L
E.C = 1.4
P.H = 5.9

Here are the Barneys Blue Cheese at the start of there 4th week, they are coming on nicely now and are just about to take off it seems.

This is the Dinafem Deep Cheese and Critical+, As you can see they’ve still done nothing. Deep Cheese has definitely grown but never known anything grow so slowly.

Just after my last update I learnt I’m doing it all wrong and stop treating coco like soil. Don’t let it dry out,
Since then they have been fertigated every day by hand just before the lights come on, and also been upping the feed a bit now.
To start with was putting in 1L per pot and getting 3L total runoff from 4 plants so gradually been lowering the volume of feed going in each day trying to reach the magic 20-30% runoff. 700ml per pot gives me 2L of total runoff from 5 pots so by my calculations I’m getting 60% runoff at the moment. Should theoretically be able to drop it to 350ml per pot and that should give me my 30%, gonna try 500ml next though and see how that goes. First off I need to measure the runoff tonight and see what the ec is, I measured the barrel and that's giving a reading of over 3.5 ec and ph of 7+ but that's not very accurate, by the time its reached the barrel too much could have happened. ive made a better way of taking runoff so I can measure it straight from the pot, just need to try it tonight and see what result I get back to decide what happens next. if the runoff is acceptable ill keep going as I am, if ec is too high then i'll put plenty of juice in for the next couple of days and get it all back under control.

I’m tempted to automate this with drip rings and things but don’t really have room for a reservoir. I’d like to be fertigating 3-4 times a day during flower but will be unable to do that by hand.
At the moment I’m using 25L barrels with markers drawn every 2L and they are working well for me, they are tough and see through so good for measuring out different amounts of solution.
Trouble I’m finding is I can’t seem to find a pump small enough to fit through the hole in the barrel, some sort of inline pump might be my only option at this point, like the 12v water pumps you find in a caravan or something similar.
The other thing is what to put on the end of the lines, I like the look of those hydro halo’s but will cost about £40 for 4 of those and not willing to pay that when you could make something similar for less than a tenner, I’m thinking hard pvc tube heated up and bent into a c shape and capped off at each end with a load of small holes drilled in should do it, small hose barb fitted to it for attaching hose jobs a good en.

I’ve got a load of spray heads from an outdoor irrigation system but not sure if I’d trust them long term, they seem like they would be prone to clogging, also with the lower pressure I just don’t think they will work very well.
Decisions decisions, Hopefully after tonight ill know a bit more where this is going
peace

Week 5

A+B = 1ml/L
E.C = 1.1
P.H = 5.9

Here we are at the start of the 5th week of veg and things are starting to happen now.
A couple of days back I took all there tops off and bent them over :oh-shit: , Also took a couple of the bigger fan leaves that was getting in the way.
They have responded well to that and have thrown out a load of side branches.
The net will be going in very soon. Before that I want to get in there and clean/disinfect everything while I still can.

Here are the 4 Barneys Blue Cheese veg’ing in the flower room, Hopefully in another couple of weeks they will be ready for the flip.
Image

The plant I had originally set aside for a mother went mad and started on a growth spurt so I swapped her out for the one with the biggest fan leaves blocking light to below, I’ve opened up the veg side of the tent and chucked her in there for reduced light but mainly so I don’t have to move her to a drain every day for feeding.
Image

This barrel of feed has been cut back to just a+b for the last few days and dropped the ec as well, was looking a bit dark green and leathery in places so thought I’d back off a bit for a few days and see how they respond, A good chance to save some additives as well.

Finally here are the Dinafem Critical + and Deep Cheese, lost count of how old they are now but its safe to say the deep cheese has definitely grown a little since last week.
It’s getting silly now though. :surrender:
Image

In preparation for getting to the back pot with a scrog net in place I had an idea :idea: and built a long reach watering can with a bit of conduit and some hose pipe, Works a treat getting in tight spaces and reaching to the back of the groom, The flexible hose joint gives me control over pouring as well. Once the net is in place and everything is cut back underneath should be able to give them a good soaking with minimum effort. :rain:
Image

Well that's about all for this week, Hope you had a nice Christmas and have a good night for New Years. :bye:

With young seedlings you really dont water daily or they will never grow Vador or grow very slow. To start and bring them back round let pots really dry out till pots are light as fuck and then start watering/feeding again. After that they should only need watering every 3 to 4 days for a few weeks till they`re growing with plenty of roots, basically let them dry out in-between feeds but not as much as bone dry. Its how i do it or they never grow. They need roots before you can soak pots daily. You will get lots of differing opinions i suppose but i can`t get seedlings to grow on a daily feed regime like i can watering every 3 to 4 days

Tbh @2-Scoops the seedlings I’ve been leaving to dry out between watering, it’s the best part of a week between feeding for them, they are really old seeds though and I think that’s the cause.
They did both have just plain water the time before last though cos I couldn’t be arsed to knock up some feed, that made the deep cheese go hungry, oh yeah and the humidifier was dripping into the tray and flooded them out a little while back lol.
Thing is those two seedlings are older than the 5 blue cheese so I’m just surprised how small they are.
Oh well I expect they will pull through
