So about 5 weeks

as a back up mate id pop another bean or two in soil so you dont hav go street with autos the first 3 to 4 weeks are critical in my opinion for growth other wise you wont get much to sample

Heres wat happenes wen you dont pay attension to those early weeks

A shameful grow to show
Ain't nothing shameful about either of those pics mate.

I need to get the environment dialled in really but will pop some seeds anyway once the new tent gets here.

And YEA, good idea on a few soil based ones in there - didn't want to introduce soil due to the bugs but now thinking about it as a backup

I'm going to do it mate and thanks for the Kick up the Arse (just like the Marcus moment these do help me to progress) - I got two packs of the "Water Melon Wedding Cake" from the comps and these were always the nicest sounding to me so going to open one packet (and leave the other in the SAFE):-

and my mate Willy has been wanting to start one so I will be germinating one packet of those in hydro but this time with a dedicated single R-Strip and a small 12v pump to get the nutrients moving from day one (basically a constant water fall down thru the clay hydro pellets - similar to an AeroGarden). Not sure how that will work but they did alright under my old light and crappy very rare hand feeding so I have higher hopes at least.

Depending on what happens with the water issue in the current setup I will either move one or two of these in and donate one to Willy or he can take two and I will keep one for a mother while seeing out these girls.

Either way I think getting some more started is a good call my friend and thank you for that.

There is defo something really not right with that water as my hand is still 'fecked'.

Minty, I believe your one plant might be suffering from rot. I'd recommend using this https://www.onestopgrowshop.co.uk/produ ... ff-1-litre
Nanook swears by it if I remember correctly. Your other plants' roots are nice and white, they look great
Got some as a back up either way and some other bits I have heard are useful:-

But I really suspect there is something else going on with the water.

The suspected 'Fuel pump' is no longer in the system so will check the water in the actual pots shortly to see if they are as slimy as the backup tank but going to dump the tank into the waste in the morning and see what happens with a refill now that I have a new clean pump.

Try to save a penny, end up loosing 2.

Checked the water in the RES and that does not feel slimy - tastes alright ;o)

:idn:

EDIT: 10 mins later my other hand is dry as well. Going to dump all water tomorrow and refill regardless

I can't really clean the system while the plants are in there so my plan is to dump the water, bypass the RO filter and give the whole system a new fresh fill of tap water (mains feed water is much quicker than RO filtered), feed and adjust PH from there.

Pretty much all I can do I think.

Got some backup seeds on the go for when it all goes bad

Got two of them and so far seen one flying fuka on the tip of the plant during my inspection (which seriously wanted to live and flew outta the tent so I let him go (truth is I failed to kill the fucka, so it got away, but I chased it so enough said) - I did squish another fecka strolling to the sponge so I defo have guests!!

I got bigga problems at the min so going to ignore the wild life for now - but in the back of my mind this is totally looking like a FAIL.

Thanks Bulls, Just my tiny stoner brain trying to plan shit out really. Back in the day that would have been a NASA joke but now SpaceX are getting more attention than NASA which is cool to see.

Been reading a load of reviews the air conditioner and to be honest it sounds perfect as I can stick it in the loft without annoying the very close neighbours (cluster house) or my bedroom which is directly below and it should be able to cool both tents down about 11 degrees C from ambient which is more than enough for a buffer in the limited hot conditions we see in the UK.

Stats wise it is 2300 BTU recommended for cooling 40m2, 42 decibals on low and 52 on high, 153 cfm fan running at 210 watts and is is only cooling about 20 cubic meters in total for both tents so should be able to run in sleep mode for most of the time. I'm looking forward to playing with it and that should be the last major component in controlling the environment automatically.

Not sure how you have your wiring mate but mine is already getting close to the limit of the dedicated circuit it is running on at 16amps (reused the old central heating feed) so may have to think about running a proper cable up and upgrading to a 32amp breaker once I get the 2nd tent. That's gonna be a fecking pain in my arse.

Minty you know about radial and ring circuits .....?

radial

It is acceptable to install a number of sockets on a radial circuit using 2.5 mm cables protected by a 16A circuit breaker - provided that the expected connected load does not exceed 16A

A 2.5mm cable is capable of supplying around 23-25 amps depending on the method of installation, so is fine, safe and compliant on a 20amp circuit breaker

If you dont know about sparking..........get some one who knows about electrics mate :Stoned:
