Hello buddy. Looking really good in there. Glad to hear all the stats are in range too. How long are you taking the Widow? I would suggest you to take her at least 11 weeks and you will have a banging smoke buddy.
Hey Bulls,

Right now this is the start of week 8

I changed res water last night and after she was fed I inspected some trichomes. All the trichomes I could see were milky in color/cloudy. This means we are getting close.

With all the lollypop heads turning milky on me I am going to wait her out to get some ambers in there to get a couch lock effect.

I was honestly expecting her to swell up a lot more than what I have seen, cylax from past grows were huge, I dont even see them swollen on this plant. BUT having said that, she is just not ready yet. I will be waiting for another 2-3 weeks before chop. 11 weeks is the cutoff if all possible, so I am with you on this Bulls...11 weeks may be key to this strain. Will update again in a few more days buddy.

Thanks for swinging by!

Notnsure if that 11 week window is gonna be possible bulls. Would love to let her swell but right now things have changed.

A few days ago I was sitting at almost all milky/cloudy. Yesterday I checked again with no artificial lighting and I now have amber production increased. Looking at the buds not the sugar leaves the amber is kicked into gear.

I think I may start the flush today for a few days and increase the dark period to 14 hours witj 10 hours of light to help ripen a little quicker during the flush.

I don't want a lot of amber and I'm worried is I'm at day 56 of flower with amber production speeding up that by week 11 I'll probably have a plant that has more CBD than THC.

Just home from the night ggt shift. Gonna sleep on this and see what I decide when I wake up and check the trichomes again today.

Kind of sucks because last 2 I did swelled up very nice and was on pace with trichomes. This Widow however never swelled up a lot and now we have amber (5 to 10%)

Disappointed in this grow. Was really hoping to get 1 to 2 ounces.

I think judging by the size I will be lucky if I get half ounce dried. DWC lessons learned. Can't change the errors but can take what I learned and move onto the next.

Hopefully the small yield gives me good quality smoke. I don't sell..its all personal use so at the end of the day I will take quality over quantity all day long.

Live and learn mate. Hopefully next time you will do much better with the knowledge you've gained from this grow.
And this is a personal growers forum buddy. We don't tolerate anybody who is or intends to sell. That will be a permanent ban.

Its all learning mate, none of us us experts. Im sure the widow will be a banger of a smoke. There are many versions of the widow out there now, not all are huge yielders but most are top notch smokes. I believe the closest you can get to the oldschool widow is actually black widow by mr nice.

I look forward to seeing your autos.

Thanks Keeno, yeah I wasnt sure what to expect with the Hydro as my 1st time using DWC. I thought the warmer temps were a great thing like when growing in soil...boy was I wrong there, wish I had know from the beginning, but he...live and learn!

I chopped the girl down last night. Then cleaned out the tent, got the pots ready for the next batch and installed the automatic watering system. Will install the net for the scrog today, gonna try scrogging the autos I get to see how they do!

Widow is a good smoke, its been a few years since I had it, and you are right, many variations of it. This one never smelled any when growing, was a great plant for a stealth grow.

Good morning everyone!

Hope your all doing well!

Last night I chopped the girl. I was going some reading about the trichome science and the THC/CBD/CBN and learned more info. I decided to let this one get the chop with about 5% amber. While the Widow is a Hybrid it is sativa dominant, meaning it is not meant to have the couch lock effect. No point in letting it go amber for a couch lock if the plant isn't designed to give you the couch lock effect like most Indica plants. Also dont see the point in degrading THC if its a high THC plant. Thats just my 2 cents, coming from the guy who totally messed up this grow haha

Now having said that, before I chopped her I was hoping to get an ounce off her. Then as a couple weeks went by and I never got a lot of swelling I was kinda hoping I would end up getting at least 15g in total. VERY LOW and again I am ok with that because I learned a shit ton from this grow. I would take knowledge and information all day long just like quality over quantity.

Now...after I chopped she did start to kick up a stink a little and was the first time I really got a good smell from her. Perhaps my carbon filter was just doing its job, but other plants have smelled so I think its a genetic from this seed.

When chopped the buds were very very heavy. Heavier than my usual grows. I usually get 2+oz per plant, I know thats not happening with this one but the buds were very tight! As it dries I expect them to lighten up a lot and even get fluffier, again, time will tell on this.

Here are the photos of the harvest. If I can get 15g I will be happy. The trichs are milky white, very cloudy and hardly any clear heads at all, if any. She seemed to have a nice color after harvest, not that bright under ripe green color, so I think i got her at her peak time.

So thats the end result, not bad, not great, but hopefully she smokes great. She is in a dark room now drying with some moving air, and I will be doing a final trim on her before she gets stored away.

So my guess is about 15g

Will post final weight when she is dry in a few days to a week and we will wrap this one up and start with our Autoflower grow for King Tut and Speed Bud X3

Have a great day!

You dont ant to be scrogging the auto`s mate. Issue is they will be in flower in 3-5 weeks. Some growers will top autos and apply some lst, but thats about as far as you go with them. There isnt time for heavy training.

You know I been thinking about that. The 1st 2 autos I done I did LST on them. I did top them and they turned out great.

The King Tut has a lifespan of just over 4 months seed to finish as an auto.

The Speed Bud from seed to harvest is about 12 weeks they say, it is quick.

I will leave the screen for the photoperiods once I get the rest of the seeds from my winnings!

Thanks for the heads up. Topping and LST is what I will do on the king tut. With the Speed Bud being such a fast growing plant with such a short lifecycle, I will avoid topping her and just stick to LST on the 3 of them once they are ready.

Thanks buddy :)
