Very true. I've just finished a small experiment where I tested how high I can push EC and the numbers are crazy. I had plants that were receiving 4EC and were healthy and loving life. That being said there was a build-up in the media what lead to issues later on down the road :)
Yes when i ran 2.8EC for donkeys i used to test run off weekly and it often hit 4+ec without any problems, but i tended to flush pots through on a weekly basis when doing that, it was a real ball ache with 5 gallon pots and all the water needed to lower EC in medium right back down.

You have to be very careful of nutrient element ratio as that's going to have a larger influence than EC. Whacking in P and K at high levels causes unwanted competition between element uptake and the plants will struggle to take other elements. This is why many see leaf issues a week or so after they dose PK13/14.
Yes i think pot sizing can have quite a bit to do with this too in a big way. Kind of like they all have different saturation points for each element in ferts before they start interfering with take up by roots. Bigger pots carry a lesser risk when walloping them with crazy high ferts, Basically smaller pots = lower saturation point than larger pots before shit starts hitting fan. Spose thats pretty obvious though thinking about it

I haven't used base fertiliser for a while now :) All my nutrients I've been making from scratch or using Masterblend. I now have a cupboard full of shit like this.
Your on it good style. Good stuff man.
