I'm with Mr scoops it's a shame you didn't get more but what you have looks good definitely better than you'd buy of the street . Don't give up mate we all have a bad day sometimes . Looking forward to seeing what you do next time .

Cheers @2-Scoops, and for all your advice on coco, especially on the two week flush. A week isn't enough and even 10 days seems too short.

Sorry, just seen this. Thanks for the kind comments mate. The weed is definitely much better than the so called 'Cali' and UK grown crap I had to buy when I ran out.

hi bud i have been a relative recent convert to the leds and been relearning how to use them to there best, first and most simple mistake for me was starting vegging with light to intense but damage with led is not obvious like hps burn it takes longer to show but ime does more and longer term damage.sybarite wrote: ↑Fri Mar 31, 2023 6:26 pmHello, Happy Friday, weekly update time! Day 33 in flower. EC 1.7, pH 6.2 with PK boost at half strength, nothing fancy! Lights were cranked up to 75% but Unicorn Pop Drops leaves started burning again, so I think I'll try alternating between 50% and 75% throughout the day
I was expecting a bit more stack on UPD but bloom time stated on packet is 7-10 weeks so maybe there's time. Zkitzo is stacking quite nicely and has a few manky fan leaves but the buds close to the light seem to be lapping it up. The Ice Cream Cake is very small but very healthy looking and Orinoco is also in perfect health, not a single bit of leaf fade or anything and it's now almost as tall as UPD, so leads me to conclude that some cultivars/phenotypes just hate LEDs being too close or too bright but some cope fine. Maybe that's an oversimplification but can't think what else it could be. VPD is pretty dialed now since I got the fan controller, all plants transpire nicely, always praying. It isn't a big problem but would be nice if it didn't happen. Dimming/raising the light, or training the plants seems to be the fix, just a bit of trial and error to find out the needs of each new plant.
The bud porn is all Zkitzo as the others look less developed.

it wont kill them but does hobble them for the rest of the grow and they never achieved what i could do under the hps,but i have learned more is not always better and started making more use of the dimmer switch and start on just 25% using 250w qb ala @Forest and midway through a 6 week veg go 50% then 2 weeks after flip i whack it up full a little a day and have seen much happier plants and last harvest was best quality and biggest so far.
feels like going back to school at 60yrs old!good luck

Re: Sy Goes Coco Loco with Orinoco, Zkitzos, Triangles & Unicorns
Hey @duke, thanks, similar issues for me and similar solutions too. My last run could not handle even 50% at any stage but my latest one is now on 75% at 3 weeks in bloom and the plants look perfect. I'm reluctant to whack them up more at the moment, because as you say, it takes time for the problems to become visibly apparent - as they're looking fine I reckon it's best to keep things as they are, maybe increasing it to 100% for a few hours per day next week until they're on 100% all day. Unfortunately, my current light has a stepped dimmer, so only positions are off, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%, making it less incremental.duke wrote: ↑Sat Jun 03, 2023 1:39 pmhi bud i have been a relative recent convert to the leds and been relearning how to use them to there best, first and most simple mistake for me was starting vegging with light to intense but damage with led is not obvious like hps burn it takes longer to show but ime does more and longer term damage.

I'm also of the opinion that with LEDs less is more with certain strains. This was kind of proven to me on my friend's last run I was helping with - we always kept his older less powerful (than mine) LED on 25%, simply because we forgot to turn them up but the buds on one of the plants were absolutely massive, some of the biggest I've seen anywhere and fairly dense for that particular strain, leading me to conclude that not all plants need 100% or maximum PAR to grow properly and provide high yields of quality bud.
Rainbow Candy by Grower's Choice in living soil with relatively old school LEDs only on 25%...

Re: Sy Goes Coco Loco with Orinoco, Zkitzos, Triangles & Unicorns
they look smashing!im trying to be a lot more careful re the intensity and distance of the qb from the canopy something tells me the light meter on my camera tells massive lies! so i am just using the minimum that looks adequate rather than ott, still miss my hps esp during winter but learning to work the leds and hopefully wont need to add a heater for a while, thanks for sharing.

Yes, I think cameras have LUX meters but you really need a PAR meter for LEDs and they aren't cheap. The one on Migro is probably the cheapest I've seen and works well.
Here is a conversion ratio for LUX to PAR but still prefer a PAR meter for ease and accuracy: https://migrolight.com/blogs/grow-light ... accurately
