Watching this mate, see I did that odd defol thing at 2 flower stages? one of them has MASSIVE buds. Other is no worse than any I didnt do it to. Might be something in it - also less stress doing one large scale compared to a bit here and there.

Yeah might be mate. When i do the skirts i wil do it in one go. I dont know about up top yet. Ive only done two scrogs before. one was multi strain and was a bit of a disaster. I got 13 oz of a screen same size as this really. Be good to see if ive learnt anything since then lol. Just winging it 100% .Black Grouse wrote: ↑Tue Sep 25, 2018 2:24 pmWatching this mate, see I did that odd defol thing at 2 flower stages? one of them has MASSIVE buds. True Viz. Lots of ways to grow a plant. This be good for me, Im usually very orderly but less structured. Sad is the opposite lol.

The big thing to remember with growing is that you must get a feel for each of your girls. They are different, not all plants even if the same strain will behave the same. I struggled with that in the beginning and only during my second grow did I have lightbulb moment. Now I see that it is part science, and part art growing good weed. Do the basics right but at the same time it is OK to be creative and to experiment.
LOL
Haha dead right. Sadface helped me loads in staying focused i tend to like the experimenting side and if it doesnt work kill it lol. Ive killed a lot of plants cause i wasnt happy with the results of whatever hahaha. he helped keep me cool on my last last grow too.

Wow Hobbit this will interesting. Multi-strain scrog filled 100% a flowering cut in the mix. Stem pinching as well i am trying to imagine the amount of heads and how bushy above the net it will become. Keeping a level canopy will be a mission in its self but i hope you do. Definitely can not wait to see these flipped.

I guess the worse scenario would to be run out height and they grow into the light. Scrogs are great when you are restricted by your height. The idea of a scrog also is to remove the popcorn factor so all the flowers above the net are dense and not airy. The light penetration is rather key to how much height you try and aim for above the canopy with the emphasis on try.

Re: Sadface Mentors Hobbits First Coco Grow
What kbag fella said above is so correct and totally agree. If growing with LEDs i will flip at 80% let hem fill in and hopefully stop them with 10" colas as penetration with LEDs is bad. If you growing hps I'd aim for maixmum of 16" colas and if you're using gavita ..well it's a game changer haha the penetration is great. Another factor to consider in my head is strain. How leafy it is and etc as it also affects penetration..so far it's looking bombastic and i know it's mentored diary but wouldn't I do that to fill 100% and flip
