Good evening folks!

Wife free and kid free for a few days, few draws later and next thing you k ow I become a surgeon.

Changed the res tonight and introduced week 4 of veg nutes. I am not sure how much longer I will let her Veg. Depending on growth this week I will either let her go or flip.

Today's log after Res change

Res. temperature - 22°C
PP.M - 600
PH - 5.85

The girl was growing very bushy and I decided to remove a handful of leaves to get more light. Going to help a lot now that she is opened up more

Before surgery

After surgery

Good morning everyone!!

So its been about a week now since I posted the last update.

We are now in week 5 of veg for this White Widow

I have done more defoliation on her over the past couple days. I removed large fan leaves on bottom and on the top and it has really opened up a lot of area for light and air.

I am still not sure if I wanna top the plant or switch to flower next week. I was going to do a scrog but I do not have the tools to do it this run. Next run with Gorilla Glue #4 there will be a scrog involved with the DWC, or even perhaps a RDWC.

ph has been a little battle. Mainly because I think my pH meter is not calibrated. I have ordered ph buffer calibration solution which will be here this week.

PPM is in range of 600 - 700
Water temps were 22.5 when checked today

Gave the girl another enzyme capsule from my nutrient program. Calls for 1 capsule of Zyme for every 40 liters. Gave it half and will give it another half in 3-4 days. I expect to see the water foam up here as it breaks down the bacteria and turns it into micro-nutrients for the plant.

I also am continuing the foliar feeding program. I will be foliar feeding EVERY WEEK until the 2nd week of flower. I am using a feeding program from Foliar Essence and it has given great results.

Here are some pictures hot off the press from today

Loving looking plant mate, can I ask what you water ppm is before you add nutes ? Doing a smashing Job with this DWC and is my preferred way of growing now, so much quicker then soil. Next time have a look at rooting in root riot cudes if you can get them over there. Be less stress on the girls when getting transplanted into pebbles

Doing a smashing job mate and as Bulls said I always train "supercrop" in DWC

Thanks a million buster! I actually don't know what the ppm is before I add nutes.

Having said that, according to the feeding chart in my nute program I should be over 1000ppm but feeding based on ml/Liter the ppm is always lower. Why do you ask? Teach me something lol

Rooting cubes are available here. I wanted to try this out to see how she went for my 1st DWC. Now that I know what to expect, I can start getting more serious with the next grows. I have rockwool cubes but I will check out that product you are talking about. Thanks for that!

You supercrop? Thats one I never tried yet. I did a FIM on this one and thats all. Last one I did LST/Topped. I am waiting for cola branching to kick into gear before I switch the lights on this one. She is very short, very bushy and getting very wide!

Update from this morning...

Things look great in the tent, the top was starting to take off over everything else, and I decided to top her this morning. I will continue to let her veg. When I get my 1000w light for xmas this will help a lot.

My next order is going to be a new pump or airstone. Although she is healthy, the roots are not big at all. Unless she will take off later in growth.

Here she is topped off strutting her stuff...

Starting to consider upgrading my pump for my res. I think the pump is ok, not great. There are bubbles made on the surface but I would love to see more misting of small micro bubbles than large hurricane like movement inside. My pump is not powerful to go crazy. The air stone I have is not a flat one, its round like a cylinder. May look into changing that up to a bigger one to cover more surface area, but that will probably result in less bubbles.

The roots don't look bad, they are just not as large as I was thinking for this stage of growth. I was thinking about double the height of the plant. Again, 1st time on hydro so perhaps I am right on schedule.

Here is a photo taken tonight of the root system. We are almost on week 6 of veg (Monday)

It has been almost a week now since we have topped her. We did a FIM on her about 2 weeks ago and the results look good. Here are the results of the FIM and Topping that have taken place

When I topped her about a week ago, I also trimmed up the bigger fan leaves to allow more light at the growing sites. Here is a photo of the new growth 1 week later (Taken today)

Finally I also trimmed her up again. I remove the huge fan leaves on top, removed some very small sites on the lower end of the main stock, and some leaves in the middle to open her up more

Despite roots being small to me, she is healthy. I was thinking of flipping her to flower next week. The roots do have some brown from nutrients. You can see the whiteness in there, but when I foliar feed with Foliar Essence the runoff hits the roots. No bad smell.

The water in the res may look like soap but this is because of the Enzyme I add to the res. I hear roots love extra air and that good foam like this really helps, again..not sure on the truth but this plant seems to agree.

Temp Lo: 20C
Temp Hi: 27C

RH Lo: 45%
RH Hi: 57%

PPM: 610
PH: 8.4

Res Temp: 22.5C

Got me some nice Gorilla Glue #4 here I am gonna smoke, she looks tasty!

Plant looks healthy, the roots do look a little small for week 5-6 in veg. Also your ph is way high for DWC or was that a typo idlandgrower ?

As kbag said your pH is way off for hydro. Your aim is 5.5 - 5.8 during veg. Roots are a bit small yes, are you using any root stimulator? Plant is looking healthy otherwise buddy but I won't be removing amy leaves or growth yet as plant needs all the big fan leaves to photosynthesis.

Looking good mate, as said the Ph is too high for my liking, 5.8 would be my target and let it swing up to 6.0 then drop it again, when your in flower go 6.0 letting it swing up to 6.2 then drop back down to 6.0.
