Time for a new diary and this one's a bit different to any I've done before on this forum, as they've all been in soil with organics. This time I'm growing in coco and keeping it simple, at least for now - no perlite, no hydroton, no mycorrhizae, and they will end up in 6.5L square, plastic pots. These were all planted in jiffy peat plugs around mid-December, then transplanted to GHO soil in 3" pots, as the original plan was to put them back into soil but a friend wanted to learn to grow, so opportunity knocked and the friend is having my soil gear, as it should be more forgiving for a learner. I used to grow in coco years ago and had reasonable success, so I'm no stranger to the method but possibly a little rusty.
Strains/Cultiivars:
Orinoco (Medical Marijuana Genetics)
Triangle Mints (Seed Junky)
Unicorn Pop Drops (Universally Seeded)
Zkitzo (Mean Beanz)
Feed/Medium:
Canna Coco Professional
Ionic Coco Grow
Ionic Coco Bloom
Ionic PK Boost
Ionic Cal-Mag
Shogun Katana Roots
So far these have been hand-fed every three days with Ionic Grow at 5ml/L, cal-mag at 0.5/L and Katana Roots at 2.5ml/L, giving a final EC of 1.0. Final pH was around 6.5, so brought it down to about 5.8 with Plagron Lemon Kick. I'm allowing the coco to lose some moisture over three days with the intention of increasing root mass and preventing rot. Re-potting will be incremental, also with the intention of increasing root mass.
No package for the Triangle Mints, as that was a cutting from a friend.
