Re: Grumpy Toad's Fall 2022 grow
Update: I mixed up a fresh batch of nutrients to double check my numbers. R/O water showing 0.0 PPM/EC. Adjusted the water to 68 degrees F. Check pH of the filtered water and was looking at 7.1 pH. Added my standard nutrient mix and stirred well. I calibrated my Bluelabs pH meter and the mixture measured at 5.7 pH and 1225 PPM (1.75 EC).
I'm still leaning on increasing the CalMag. The bottle calls for 3 - 5 ml/gallon. I'm currently using 2ml/gallon. I'm thinking about going to 4ml/gallon.
Also of note, the two plants showing issues are the same strain. The other three plants (different strains) are doing fine.
I'd love to hear your thoughts.

I've got my fingers crossed. Never had anything pop up that quickly before. I still have to believe it is strain dependent. Peace, ToadMomma bear wrote: ↑Mon Nov 07, 2022 4:56 pmI think with what you just wrote your gonna see her do a big turn around.. I know I know cal mag but I betcha she fixes it. Re: Grumpy Toad's Fall 2022 grow
End of week 6 flower
The evening after my last update I noticed a few upper fan leaves on the White Wedding 1 (runt) had dark spots and felt dry/crispy. This looks like a Calcium deficiency as it is mostly on upper growth and a little on some middle leaves that get direct light. The other White Wedding shows signs as well but to a lesser extent. The other two strains aren't affected.
I've been adding CalMag so I'm not sure what caused this. So, I fed 12 hours early and gave the runt extra to get more runoff and flush the roots. While I figure this out I think keeping things fresh would be good.
I know better that to think it will get better (damage is done) but I'm hoping it doesn't get worse. Other than that everything else looks good.
Anova suggested that I needed to check my pH. So, I calibrated my Bluelabs pH meter and tested my nutrient mixture which tested at 5.7. That all seems in line with what I expect. I added additional CalMag, now at 4ml/gallon.
One other thought I had (and this might be totally off base) was that I am feeding/watering every third day. I'm getting minimal runoff every feed but maybe they are drying back too much. I've started feeding every other day. It may help, it don't believe it can hurt.
As outdoor temperatures drop more, especially at night, I can smell the plants in the lung room and into the hallway. I only notice early in the morning. What I figured is that when the lights are out the tent temperature drops and the AC Infinity exhaust fan slows down. The air return on the central air system in the house is overpowering the exhaust fan and actually sucking air out of the tent and into the house. I've reset the minimum fan speed from 1 to 6. Now at night the exhaust won't go below that speed and keep odors from the whole house.

Momma Bear, this one's for you. I picked off the first fan leaf with this mutation when I defoliated. But I was sure I saw a second one.
