Awesome I'm looking for pink pistils on the next run, some rare shit thatGrumpy Toad wrote: ↑Fri Oct 14, 2022 2:56 pmEnd of week two flower
Environment in tent is rock solid. No weird high or lows in either temperature or humidity. I bumped the base nutrients up very slightly and as of week two I'm adding Big Bud to the nutrient mix. EC is at 1.7.
When I pulled the plants out to feed & inspect I noticed the Zweet Inzanity was kind of droopy. This was strange because she has been the best looking gal in the tent. Fed all the plants and returned them to the tent. Tried to go through everything that could have changed during the last three days and came up blank. No spike in temperature or humidity. So I kept thinking about what caused this. It occurred to me that out of the 5 plants the Zweet Inzanity felt really light. So I thought maybe it dried out too much. That plant was also directly in front of the tower fan too. Checked plants the next morning and the Zweet Inzanity bounced right back, looking perky & praying to the lights. I'll water/feed that plant sooner.
One of the Midnight Moonlight plants is having a growth explosion. It was a couple inches shorter than the ZI and in the last week has become the tallest in tent. The White Wedding (Runt) was the only plant that didn't get topped. It's coming along nicely. The interesting thing about that plant is that the pistils are coming in pink. Once it gets a little more developed I'll try to get a good photo.
So, all is good. Loving the grow. Peace, Toad

Unfortunately the pistils on those buds are growing white and have covered the colored ones up.biosynthetic wrote: ↑Wed Oct 26, 2022 2:02 pm

Re: Grumpy Toad's Fall 2022 grow
End of week 4 flower
The grow is going really well. Plants are healthy and I haven't really had any issues to speak of.
Fed the same nutrient solution this week. The plants were fed at 1.7 EC. I will continue with the same mix for another week.
The plants have slowed down in height growth and the buds are filling in. The Midnight Moonlight and White Wedding don't have much aroma yet. The Zweet Inzanity, on the other hand, is already LOUD. It has a very strong solvent-like smell. I'm not sure I can narrow it down but is funky. The other plant that I would note is the White Wedding 2 (runt). The only one that didn't get topped and was so small I almost culled it. Now I'm glad I didn't because it is super frosty.
Fall is finally coming to my area and outdoor temps have dropped drastically. I'm able to increase my lights wattage and still keep temps in line. So now the power is at a total of 415 watts, up from 360 watts, measured from the wall with a Kill-a-watt. Lights on the tent is at 78 – 80 F and 50 - 55% RH. Lights off the temp drops to 70 F ad RH is the same.
Sorry for the crappy photos. Cheap phone camera. I'll charge up the battery on my Nikon and get better photos for the rest of the run.
I added a video at the end.

Re: Grumpy Toad's Fall 2022 grow
End of week 5 flower
Vertical growth has slowed a stop. The buds are starting to bulk up. I've pulled a leaf here and there if it is blocking lower/middle buds. Between boosting a few plants on boxes and adjusting the height of lights, I've got the lights at an average of 15-16” from tops. The lights are still at 415 watts total. I'm not seeing any signs of light or heat stress so I'll try to keep everything at that level.
The outdoors temps are down significantly from 2 weeks ago. The tent is now running a degree or two cooler on average. 78-80F lights on and 70F lights off. I'm keeping humidity between 50 and 55%.
The exhaust fan and carbon filter are handling odor well. When I open the tent door the aroma is getting strong. This isn't unexpected as I was warned that the Zweet Inzanity would get really loud.
Not much else to tell. Just cruising and loving it. Here are some photos:

Re: Grumpy Toad's Fall 2022 grow
So, in the last 24 hours I started seeing brown spots on upper fan leaves on both of the White Wedding plants. There is also some small amount on middle level leaves that get a lot of light. I'm diagnosing this as a calcium deficiency. Possibly because of LED lighting??? Anyway I'm increasing the CalMag from 2ml/gallon to 4ml/gallon and hope that curbs this. I realize it won't get better but hopefully it will stop the progression.
If anyone has other ideas or suggestion I am all ears.

Re: Grumpy Toad's Fall 2022 grow
I'm using Advanced Nutrients so I don't ph. My water falls well within their preferred range. I haven't changed nutrient ratio in 5 weeks. Also, it is only with the two plants of the same strain. The others seem fine. Nutrients are at 1.7 EC.
