I'm nearly slipping already the big pot has caught little stem rot where stem goes floppy hope that doesn't mess her up much with rest of the grow :D other than that I'm pleased how we are going I moved the filter too so now my lights can ho all the way up.

Yo amigos any one use beach sand as top dress to stop gnats I go by one twice a day every day seems cheaper than buying sand if its there right?

Does sand stop them nesting then? I have sticky traps sat on the pots but if i tap a pot at least two gnats come out and then i got to try squish them.
Got a bag of paving sand in the garage im willing to sacrifice.

Hey buddy do not quote me on this subject, the sand is meant to be a barrier to stop females from laying eggs, it's meant to be sharp sand but I know sea sand is heavier and I don't have to buy I literally drive by the sea twice a day 5 days a week... most times I stop for sun rise pics and moon lol (I'm sad I know)

Soooo what I did there was put sand as top dress and aimed a fan at the lower part of the pots to make it hard for them to go back in..

Another thing I did the run off catcher I put 2 tablets of chlorine tabs lol just to fuck with their smelling ability lol.

So far after doing that no gnats around but I have killed one plant, the big pot had little stem rot and with me putting the sand there without washing it forst could have made things worse but the second plant in small pot looks happy well she did yesterday...

Soo moral is not sure about mortar sand but I guess its same as beach sand really and sea sand if your near one I'd get it then somehow wash it I didn't because sea water in small doses is nutrients so I just top dressed and hoped for ze best

Sand is good to mix in soil for drainage so i guess some of it should work its way down in to the pot as your watering as well.
Play sand or paving sand is normally clean but the sharp sand you see on building sites would definitely need washing out first but sounds like it might be better for the job though.

From what I've read is avoid play sand not sure why but every where I've read said play sand is a no no

I have no gnats so far still there was loads before I put the sand down and aimed the fan at the bottom of the pots

Slowly dying big pot lol if she lives ill leave her to it and get what i get :D


Small pot is doing good so far feed is 3ml of canna anb and that's it for these babies

Gonna have to desolate tho some of those node leafs are covering lower shoots i knew its a solar panel but one big solar panel for 4 to 6 little ones that will be big 4 to 6 sounds better to me lol...

Day 17-- 1 lady show at the moment and it's small pot



I think I have one more seed of this same pack so I'll probably throw that in big pot it's okay to have one behind a little but j always prefer a back up lady incase lol

We have a follower and I wanna see if she is ze wild Berry i wanna see what size the fruit is gonna be a see if i finally managed to get wild strawberry picked from dolby forest
