Cheeky update, I thought the Thai had hermed, panic over, was just new shoots!

Kandahar are down to one definite male (now to be used in the cross with the Thai) and one possible female.

Angus of the Real Seed Company has been brilliant over email and suggested that living soil might be too rich for these landraces, that and I shouldn't have started on 18/6 so behaviour might be a bit unpredictable.

So if this comes off it will be a small miracle!

Great learning curve.

BALLS!!!!

Totally expected to be honest and all my doing. Started on the wrong light cycle, too rich soil and as they are in a different tent than usual there was the possibility in hindsight of a slight light leak.

Never mind, great learning experience, I'll continue the diary with the female Kandahar (if it is female).

The silver lining is the 2x4 which is currently a veg tent won't be flipped for a while so I can veg more plants in the 2 x 2 so some reg seed hunting can begin with the only cross I deliberately made.

Thanks guys, at least it happened sooner rather than later. Great bit of learning too.

The Kandahar female definitely struggled to start in the living soil, or it's just a slow grower, but it's over 2ft now so had to do a bit if LST to flatten the top.

She's still not super happy but she's picked up recently with new growth. It's a long term project so she'll be vegging for an age.

Thanks for the input.

Isn't she. A mate keeps telling me to cull her to make more room, can't do it!
