So my beans say “AK 420 auto” in very neat penmanship, on a baggie with three in the vial. They are made by Seed Stockers. That’s it. Popped all three into rapid rooters, dome over top, and now we wait.
More on the strain: I popped over to seedstockers.com. Very nice user friendly site. The AK420 is AK47 BCN selection X Auto Sativa. Calls for 20-24 hours of light per day and 11 weeks per lifecycle. Lotta light that is.
Being a sucker for a good time, a few hours have passed and I’ve built the DWC…instead of cutting the grass in this heat. Leak test not going so well though – small leak at reservoir will need a rubber gasket.

About a week has passed and the GR420 site has changed servers. Woosh!
Leak at main reservoir: ended up the parts I got for fixing the leak didn’t work. Even tried plastic weld. Eventually, bought a new 10 gal trash can, drilled out a small hole and rigged up the new pass-thru. Did a brief leak test and seems to be solid.
Leak at 2 gal buckets: required using a latex/silicone bead of caulk on the inside of the buckets and around the uni-seal bulk-heads. Uni-seals are good products, but don’t work 100% in every application. Silicone caulk did the job however.
My first-ish time growing an auto. All seeds popped. Unfortunately, I have some work travel coming up this week so I’ll continue to allow the seedlings to take hold in their root plugs until I return. Cheers.
