i've noticed a lot of seed plants can behave totally different when ran as clones, any one else find that?.
Looking good bro. Yes absolutely man, I have noticed this a lot with my clone library and growing over the years. Reason why, my guess are different epigenetic changes. Which basically just means different environmental influences turn or or off genes within the plants DNA, causing the plant to appear or behave differently.

I was thinking about this today actually...when picking clones should I really be growing out multi generations, multiple times together before picking a keeper? Probably, but that's a lot of extra time and space. Depending on the differences....you may getting something really good or really bad traits, not today, but three generations from now. You really just don't know.

Apparently where you take clone from on the mother plant can have a significant outcome on what the clone is like. I have heard people/growers say on podcasts that there is some science to back this up now.

Anyway bro, good luck on the skunk hunt
Thanks Cave hill man,yes i'm gunna keep on searching for those rank terps, plenty of beans to get thru yet haha! yes i totally agree, its the environment over the first few runs of the cuts that cause the epigenetic changes,as it does with the original phenotypical expression that is produced from that seed being born in to that environment to start with, kind of like a carrying on of that process and the plant fully settling in on a hormonal level in its home i guess, ive had some amazing plants that were even still good and like the seed mum on the first run, start to change by the third run,may have been my practices as well but really thats another factor to consider when picking keepers is how easy are they to keep around and are they consistant in other environments as well,as for places the mum being better for cuts, true for sure!! i always take the healthy supple tops, makes i big difference i think man ,here's to the rank terps!!!

Hey peeps! sorry had a busy couple weeks so been slacking on updates and missed a week but at least there is some real progress to show yall,so done you a favor haha.So we are now at day 31 with the Boss pheno's #2 and #4,both are rolling along nicely.
The #4 or short stuff as we call her is starting to swell and bulk up,she's started to get a light brown almost pinkish color to a fair few of the pistols, i'm pretty damn sure nothing has hermed as the banana sauce and Meat pie cuts still have all white right next to her,so its probably just a trait in the line, the #2 Boss has a few starting as well but nowhere near as many as the 4.The resin on the #4 is still smelling kinda rotten garbage with a back round of chemical cleaner polish but with a rotten meat smell coming in now too, shes such a tiny little afghani type thing that she's probably gunna be a very fast finisher and may explain the pistols starting to change as well.
The #2 pheno is making some good progress and chunking up as well, such odd long spearish flowers, very unique looking, she's has this weird leaf curl going on here and there that others have mentioned about seeing in the Boss line, kind of like when plants do that taco thing when your watering is off only there is nothing wrong with her and seems happy, otherwise, everyone else in the room looks super happy too and they not doing such things, she's quite a light feeder the #2 i think tho as bit of nute burn on some tips, so easing off on the feed for her.Smell is a hard one to describe, its like pine, cocaine and earth all mixed up,really weird, some folks have reported straight uncut coke smelling phenos in these seeds as well lol.
The Banana's are doing really well, really going for it now with the first signs of swelling coming in and the Meat pie hedge has stopped the stretch(what little she does) and moving along rapidly like she does, they are now at day 17 i think.
Running these Boss's along side the 2 modern cuts i got in there, you really can see that they come from an entirely different gene pool, just such a different way about them.On another note, out of the 3 terp town's i popped a few weeks back #1,#2 and #3, the #1 is a def female and a stunner at that,#2 was a male and pretty sure #3 is also a boy.So the #1 is about to be cloned and will go into flower in a couple weeks ,along with cuts of the #2 and #4 Boss,so we'll see whats up with her and also how these Boss behave ran from clone. And,lastly i know i need more numbers to find that really stinky rankness so just popped another 3 Boss and 6 Terp towns!! 1 Terp T didnt come up but still a very good germ rate, wish could do more at once but space permits you know,grr..anyhow sorry to waffle on,so here they all are the beasties i speak off....

So here are the terp towns, this is the #1 pheno, sexed as female now and has a kliler structure, only been topped the once, check out the side branches! and man the smell on the stem rub,its the rankest yet,its like sour fox shit with piss thrown in,rank but in a good way hehe

Image

Terp town #2 is now deceased as was a male and didnt really have a smell on the rub, so got the axe out :viking:

Image

Terp town #3 i suspect to be a male but i'm not being hasty as you never know, bit of slow and tiny thing anyhow, so wouldent be the end of the world, not much of a unique smell either on this one

Image

Still holding on to a couple cuts of the Boss #3 rotting meat male for a future project maybe, too rank to chuck!

Image

and finally the beans i've cracked for the next hunt, got 3 Boss and 5 terp town

Image

Thanks for enduring another long ass post everyone, over and out......bimble

Hi everyone....man had a busy couple weeks in the real world, fuckin hate the real world lol....that and having to move my set up mid flower, well its been a nightmare really but hey still breathing!!! My new space however is pretty sweet and got more room to run different stuff now so it's worked out good after all.
The Boss skunk #2 and #4 have been down a couple weeks. The #4 or short round as now call her (in homage to the kid out of indianna jones) was well finshed up at 7 weeks and came out pretty decent considering the recent heat wave but the #2 suffered bad with heat stress so gave her the chop at same time, running them both again now tho so we'll see if she shine second time around! hell we all need a second chance in life haha...

Boss #4 aka Short round pulled thru the heat wave not to bad, only mild heat stress, chopped at 49 days, very dense nugs ,even the lower lowers, zero pop corn....smells like meat and furniture polish, tastes the same but really black hashy as well, reminds me of some of the 1988 g13 hashplant hybrids from bohdi i ran many moons ago...very old skool, very nice calming and giggly effect, noticable cbd and other uncommon minors..feels quite different for sure

Boss #2 as said really did'nt fare well with the extreme heat, room was 31 /32 for long while,so the axe she did get at the 7 weeks too.
The smoke however is actually pretty damn good despite being severely heat stressed whispy pieces of shit, the effect is almost uncomfortably soaring and potent, really does rip you and has bit of a mango twang,a glimpse into what she could be done right, shes got potential i think so running her again along with short round and already 2 weeks in,so will keep you posted, here she is after a hard life..

Image
Image

As for the Banana sauce and Meat pie cuts that went in with them to make up the numbers from the male massacre well, just taken the Bananas down couple days ago at 9 weeks, again pretty fuckin heat stressed and the Meat pie hedge of little clones is at 7 weeks and will be coming down in a week also, the Meat has been some what unphased by the temps...man shes tougher than shirl off eastenders lol...

Heat stressed Bananas anyone? at 9 weeks before the chop

Image

and the Meat pie hedge..was well worth the time by looks of it,a weeks or so to go on these

Image
Image

thats it for now really

nice one Bimble

So not a bad couple of phenos for the first 2 out of the Blue skies gear, the buzz's on them defo take me way back....The hunt continues for the rank terp tho haha...
Like i said i'm running the Boss 2 and 4 again and with them is the Terp town #1,and damn she is stinking up the room..rotten fox shit and piss type aroma..mmmm ,so yes i'm 17 days in with that.....Terp town#1 front left,Short round front right and 2 Boss #2 at the back,Short round is 11 days behind the rest, but she'll still finish first lol

Image

The Terp town #1...she's in a 25L pot and has got so wide she's hard to get in the frame,a big gurl...took 10 side branches off before the flip for cuts but you wouldent know to look at her, shes got the strongest side branching i think i've ever come across, starting producing resin in the seond week...got all the hall marks of something special this one....such a vile smell but in such a good way

Image
Image

good early resin production
Image

Boss #2 is looking really happy, not as tall as from seed but looking like still gunna have the long running conical shaped spears again, hope i can keep the temps down this run and let her shine, she got potential i'm sure of it

Image
Image

and last but not least... Short round, being propped up about 3 ft haha, bless her

Image

Will keep you posted on these as always interesting to see the outcome when running the clones as well

Bimble over and out :Stoned:
