Re: Grumpy Toad's Fall 2022 grow
Started soaking seeds today. Used the 1% hydrogen peroxide method. I'll put into paper towel in the morning with water & Recharge.

I've heard good things about ethos genetics and that sticky compound stuff sounds great for getting those tight spaces and cleaning up any bit of extra debris you can't get into

Re: Grumpy Toad's Fall 2022 grow
Just a quick update. When I went to move my seeds to paper towel this morning (after about 20 hours soaking) all 5 had shown signs of germinating. A couple had a root showing and the others had cracked and you can see white. First time trying the 1% hydrogen peroxide soak. Not sure if it is coincidence but I will be using this method from now on.

I also installed a smoke detector in my tent. Cheap insurance in my humble opinion. And this really sweet GR420 sticker! Huzzah!

Never thought about a smoke detector but honestly that’s a smart idea

Re: Grumpy Toad's Fall 2022 grow
So, 24 hours later, after soaking in paper towel with Recharge the seeds are all ready to go to Rapid Rooters.

I use a knife to slice the plug open and make it easy to inserts the sprouted seed. I use a piece of butcher's twine to secure the seed in the plug.

Girls are in their new home. Need to get the expanded clay balls rinsed and ready to top the containers. Lights are dimmed low and on 18/6. Fans are all running. We are officially in business!

Re: Grumpy Toad's Fall 2022 grow
Rinsed my expanded clay pellets and gave a generous layer on top each container. Lot's of dust coming off this stuff. I also started a humidifier in my lung room. I'll need to watch the tent environment close next week as temps are supposed to be 100+ next week peaking at 106F.

Re: Grumpy Toad's Fall 2022 grow
All 5 seeds are sprouted and doing well. I have turned the 135 watt light off and the 260 watt is dimmed pretty low. 106 F or more the next few day. No worries just making sure the temps are good. I've been using a spray bottle to just wet the plugs and keep things moist. Today I mixed up some weak nutrients (.7 EC) and filled the reservoir of the buckets. Give the roots something to reach for I also added some Hydroguard (Bacillus). I also adjusted the water temperature to 70 F. My tap water was coming out at 77F.
One tip I discovered. The markings on my pipette were brown. My first base nute was the same color, I used a white paint pen to mark every 10ml for easy measuring.

I use R/O water for the grow. The filter is a RO Buddie. I guess it's mostly used for aquarium hobbyists. Works fine for my purpose.

Girls are little but healthy.
