Weekly update!
This update is FULL of news  :running-around:

Let's start with the 2x4:
-Clones. After 2 full weeks, quite no one showed roots. I checked one by one, they seems to be alive (only 3 of them in total have been considered dead and removed) but roots seems to be shy. Let's wait another week.
Only two of them (T1 cuts) showed roots, so yesterday they have been potted (little pots to try to limit growth for the moment).
Recipe: Canna veg half meal (half dose Canna Grow, Rhizotonic, Cannazym) + Jump Start 1ml/l, PH to 6.0.
ImageImage
-T1 and T2 little: doing fine, continuing to grow and be trained. C1 and C2: they are fine :) I like so much their leaves, this should be a 70% sativa strain but those leaves and the general shape of the plants reminds me an indica. C2 is the little Daddy's Monster she is :)
Recipe: Canna veg full meal (Grow, Rhizotonic, Cannazym at full dosage) + Rhino Skin 2ml/l, PH to 6.0.
ImageImage
-Hand Grenade: she's ready, I think. I did not spot any amber trycome, but as I can see they went milk. I'll check twice a day, as soon as I spot some amber trycomes the plant will be harvested. I have to say this is declared a 7 weeks strain, and we are into the 10th week... 10 weeks for a dwarf plant like this is not worth. I should have been more wise. Next time I'll choose 8 to 10 weeks strains.
Recipe: plain water, PH 6.5.

sqmt grow tent:
After waiting a good week repot and thanks to the temperature drop in these days, T1 and T2 Originals reached the size and shape I wanted, so I put'd the net on and, yesterday, has been the first day of 12h lighting. Nothing more I can do for them, except train for the next 2 weeks and feeding them for the next 8. Alea iacta est, the dice has been launched. I hope I won't get snake eyes lol :distraught: :distraught: :distraught: light has been raised to 50cm over the canopy, 550-600 PPFD.
Recipe (to be made and given this evening): full pre-bloom Canna meal + Big Bud, Rhino Skin and Cal-Mag.
These photos are from yesterday, lightime is set from 20.00 to 08.00:

Personal consideration about these two plants:
as you can see from the images, T2 has always been the smallest one. But after repotting and thanks to added nutrients and temperatures drop, she quickly filled the gap with her bigger sister. After repot I noticed that T2 was always the more thirsty of the two, and probably the more hungry too. What I see now is that they are equal size; we will see what will happen in these 2 months.

WEEKLY UPDATE 8/6/22

Post by Rorschach »

-SQMT flowering tent:
Here we are, first full week of light schedule switch to 12/12. Stretching not so much, it's manageable. Expecting 1-2 more weeks of stretching. Light at 40+cm, intensity raised to 700-750 PPFD.
Image
Btw the plants are reacting fast! First signs of flowering on the tips.
ImageImage
This strain has picked my attention, the son of GSC and Tangerine, with fast flowering... Anyway it's F1 so it should need a wide phenohunt to find the right mom. I want to see the product of these two random plants btw.

-2x4 tent:
T1, T2, C1, C2 nothing to report. I have to wait for the Hand Grenade to finish before transplanting Cheeses into bigger pots, and still have 7 weeks to decide what to do with these 4 plants.
Image

Hand Grenade: this plant is driving me crazy. It's still flowering! New flowers are coming out, the buds are getting bigger and bigger. I had to stop flushing to give one last fill of nutrients (bloom full meal + carbs + Cal-Mag + Rhino Skin), it was more than a week ago: after that, the plant restarted build flower mass. I repeat it's sold as a 7 weeks strain, now we're into the 11th week.
ImageImageImageImageImage

Clones: 31 in pots, 5 (from T2) still have to show roots, but they're alive. I need 32 clones for a project... you'll see in 3 weeks. I want to make a test run to see how many clones I can pack into a square meter, will start with 40/sqmt density.
No photos of clones.
Cheers :bye:

UPDATE 8/13/22

Post by Rorschach »

Full 2 weeks of 12/12 done!!
We're officially in flowering now

Image
Image
Image

T2 on the left, T1 on the right. As you can see, the size is equal now :barmy: :barmy: lots of buds forming! My info are this strain produces thin, long buds. 80% of the phenos shows pink/purple coloration of the buds - btw it's a F1 cross between the "normal" strain and a fast-flowering-inducing auto, so I think there should be a wide selection of phenotypes. If I had more seeds! :bang head:
Still 6 weeks to go!
Veg tent: nothing to report, Hand Grenade is showing milky trycomes; she's going to be chopped down as soon as I spot a brown one (after 48h of darkness, wanna try this new thing)
Preparing surprise for mid flowering (this is why I'm not posting photos from veg tent), 2 weeks from now - stay tuned! :bye:

UPDATE 8/20/22

Post by Rorschach »

Third week of flower is gone!
Temperatures have dropped in these last 3 weeks, July and his 37-38°C peaks are past :boogie: this helps every plant to perform better. As you know, I can't manage humidity, so have no control of VPD - this induces more stress and less growth. This steup is temporary, the next one will be better.
Here are my babies
Image
T2 original
Image
T1 original
Image
After 3 weeks of stretch, I didn't manage to fill the net :bang head: but this shape suits the light footprint, I have 850+PPFD on the whole canopy  btw these plants roots have 40l of soil each one, I can give them 4-5l of water each one and still see no spill. T2 drinks more than her sister, it may be because she's the one closer to the fresh air inlet...
Flowers atm are like this:
Image

Veg tent:
auto +Speed has been harvested 4 days ago, atm it's drying. We will see how much weed a 20cm plant can do :distraught:
Cheeses have been transplanted into 10l pots, topped twice, defoliated to promote branches growth.
T1 and T2 "mothers" are ready to give another cuts wave  A LOT OF!! I can see at least 15-20 tips from each one.
2nd wave clones are "ready" for the project. Next week will reveal :dj:
:thanks:

UPDATE 8/27/22

Post by Rorschach »

This week is FULL of news. Let's dig in!
FLOWER TENT
The two Tropicanna Originals T1 and T2 just passed the 4th week of flower (2 weeks of transition, 2 weeks of effective flowering). I'm quite satisfied with the current situation:
Image

T2 (darker, tall pheno, longer stretch, more hungry/thirsty)
Image

T1 (light colour, short pheno, shorter stretch, less hungry/thirsty)
Image

I had quite a hard time working on the bottom part, next time I'll make SCROG I'm gonna do with taller plants and a more canonic mainlining (as you can see, this is quite a mess; at a certain point I lost control)
Image

Btw buds are like this: trycomes are appearing!

T2
ImageImage

T1
ImageImage

This is just the RIGHT HALF of the flower tent :sunglasses: the square meter tents I have are modular, so now I have a 2x1 meters flower tent :sunglasses:
Why, you ask?
Image
Image

SEA OF GREEN!!!
My old rig was designed to run SOG. Using Lybra pots (who are 1m long and can contain 20l of soil each), making clones every 2 weeks, let them root, then throw to flower. Each 2 weeks 2 pots were entering to the left, while 2 pots leaving from the right (end of flowering).
This wave of clones is quite regular in height (20cm circa), the density is high: 10 clones each pot, total 50 clones per square meter.
Image
Image
Normally it should be just too much, but this strain makes long thin colas so I believe the interspace is just perfect. We will see.
Bought a new light, a 300W quantum board with reflector to be used on the left half of the flower tent; it's not that much, but the cost was ridicolous (only 150€ for a 300W grow light). 40cm over the plants, 700-750 PPFD.

VEG TENT

Veg tent is the 4x2ft again. Finally there's some room to spread the plants!
Image

T1 and T2 "mothers" have lots of beautiful tips who wait to be cutted, I was going to do it today but the plants were in dryout so gave them some water (1,5l circa each one, the pots are 10l each, had little to no spill) and wait for them to recover (maybe tomorrow). This photo is from yesterday:
Image

C1 and C2 (Sweet Cheese by Sweet Seeds) are still growing, having a little training (just some lower defoliating to let branches grow, and topping on the higher tips to let the lower ones to match up). They will become mothers just as the Tropicannas; flowering their clones I'll figure out which one to save.
Image
THAT'S ALL FOR NOW, FOLKS! :dj:

ok SOG .... this should be a fun grow to watch, what are you going to do ? continue this dairy perpetually or start a seperate dairy for the SOG grow ?

Nice node stacking, donkey dicks incoming, looking good stallion Italian.

I saw someone's diary is kinda perpetual, but this diary is for the two plants in SCROG mode, it will be completed when T1 and T2 Originals will be dried, trimmed and weighted. If you say it should be interesting to have a SOG diary, I will do it in the appropriate section. There's a lot of material: choosing the right strains, popping the beans & growing plants, making cuts & look at the behaviour of the clones along the entire "production chain" :sunglasses: noticing the difference between strains, and finally CHOOSING THE RIGHT MOTHER :wtf: I know how to go thru this process but still have a lot to learn! I will need your wisdom, guys :pass:
