That's awesome mate. Thanks for the feedback, it's very useful. So you're covering your usage and charging your battery for the evening use also? Have you had an electric bill yet, wondering how much it's knocked it back by?

I’ve not got a grow on at the mo so my house bills are really small as I don’t live there at the mo although I do work there, the standing charges were more than the energy used ffs, this will change shortly when I get my next indoor grow on, shouldn’t be monumental though with the invisible suns and a couple of fans, no heat will be required.

Definitely looking at a solar system to cover the grow and some other bits and bobs

I don't have a battery so what's not used is going back to the national grid. Iv cut my bill by about £90 a month and I sell back to the grid the excess which is working out between £30-£40 pound a month. Currently

If I had a battery I wouldnt be paying anything.

In theory though I could probably happily run another 1000w -1500w for free as long as i stick to day light hours. And I would expect that to drop down in winter though

British Gas owner Centrica profits increase five-fold to £1.34 billion as energy bills soar

Shell profits hit record $11.5bn doubling in one year amid soaring energy prices

And the tory cünts are raising taxes and then using that tax money to give back to people to pay their extortionate bills and make their shareholding mates richer.

i really need to talk to someone about solar and batteries. time to get a quote i think, my elec is on fixed that ends feb and will go up from 120 to 400 i think, be better to get a loan for 10k and whack panels and battery in. would work out cheaper per month than simply just paying the elec company if my math is correct.
From the Garage of HMR
No Current Grow on, Point5 has the tent and is doing her lovely thing.

Makes sense doesn't it.

There might be grants available now too, I keep seeing adverts for solar grants, I don't read them though cause I don't want to face the realisation that IV used my own money when grants are available 🤣😂. Worth investigating though if you're ready to get it done.

Also just noticed that from October until march every household in the UK will receive a £66 discount on their energy bill.

That's pretty much a month worth of electricity for free for 6 months. I'd say that's the time to get your yearly stash ready 😅

I went on to my elec supplier and selected a new tariff as I wanted to see what the increase would be in Feb when my fixed term ends, goes from 130 to 534 per month!
I'm not eligible for any grants sadly but even without it makes financial sense to get the system now with as big of battery's that I can afford. Gonna cost ten k over ten years at 130 pm on top of what I'll use from the grid and I'll still be better off a month if my math is correct.
