Yes sir, not bad. Cheers @MrNice

--== UPDATE ==--

Ok its been 3 weeks since the last update & the plants are several times larger, it's time to transplant. This time instead of jumping to 3.7litres & then to 11l I will go straight into a 11l fabric pot. I will have to be careful not to over water.

ImageImage

Selected 4 for transplant others will be held back as still not sure which ones of the five pack I want to keep. Lined the pot bottoms with 1-2 cms clay pebbles & transplanted, they will veg for another 3 or 4 weeks, canopy is approx 70 x 70 cm so i will continue training as I don't want any runaway tops or oversized plants.

ImageImage

--== ENERGY COST ==--

I've heard @Keeno & others talking about energy prices. I'd like to take a moment to type about the cheap chinese SMD led panel I used to grow these plants and the energy cost, couple pictures below of the light in action.

ImageImage

As you can see it's nothing special, 35 watts & cost 25 euros inc delivery. It's not particularly efficient. With the increases in energy prices I'd like to draw your attention to my power usage to grow these plants, lets breakdown some numbers.

35w X 17 hours on = 595 watts or 0.6KWH per day.
595w X 21 days = 12,495 watts or 12.4KWH per 21 days.
Electrical cost per KWH = 0.21 so my total electrical cost is
0.21 X 12.5 = 2.63
If we now divide the electrical cost by the amount of plants we get energy cost per plant.
2.63 / 7 = 0.38 per plant for 3 week cycle.

Even if we take the horrendous UK october price hike at 37p per KW
4.63 / 7 = 0.66 per plant for 3 week cycle.
66 pence per plant for a 3 week veg is not in any way expensive.

I brought the light originally for use during cloning but instead its been used in a wardrobe as a temporary pre-veg area for starts and clones, I wanted to see what the cheapest white light panel could do. The panel been used for 18 months now, driver & paneel doesn't get too hot during peak summer, I think the diodes are the older SMD 2850 (can't remember exactly).

Note - I could get a little more out of this light if I lined the walls with panda film or mylar.
Note - I have no idea about life expectancy for this panel & driver, probably driver will go first, its survived 18 months (lights on 17 hours) approx 9307 hours use thus far.
Note - I pushed 3 weeks with 7 plants but they were a tiny bit stretchy (sativa leaning), they had outgrew this light at 2 weeks, either less plants or 2 weeks would have produced less stretch/better plants.

Just to be clear I'm NOT recommending this light, it's probably 1.5 - 1.7 mmol so perhaps it is efficient compared to T5 or similar antiquated lighting tech but its very inefficient compared to the newer fixtures boasting 2.8+ mmol, I'm just showing what's possible with organisation, a little money & a tiny bit of skill. I think with more efficient diodes I could have grown better plants with 25W.

:strangling: Hope that all makes sense & ive not board your pants off. :strangling:

Next update when theres something to show but honestly plain sailing, cruise control for 3-4 weeks. Peace out Growmies.

First 2 photos are from when I moved these into flower first day of 12/12, grown a decent amount since last update roots filling out drinking every 2-3 days. I'll be hand feeding these girls so I hope they go no less than a 2 day feed. They look a little light green to me maybe I might base bump 200 ppm but otherwise there happy & quite healthy, no signs of purple branches, slight purple on leaf petiole but underside of leaf & veins no purple (mid-late flower they will turn).

Ladies went from LED 200w veg, I have 480w flower LED dimmed to 60% for a nice gentile easing into flower transition. I will bump the light +5% weekly topping out w5 @85%. Week 6 onwards I will dimm -5% until 75%.

Couple nets in there notice the bottom net is set almost to the top of the ladies, I will not be moving that bottom net, sativa leaning GCP... Yup Im expecting them to triple in size with quite a lot of node stretch, watch over next 21 days as these ladies reach up & ram jam chocker block fill the 1x1m space. I may even end up raising that bottom net some... we'll see come days 15-20 when i upskirt and pluck.

Canna A & B @ 2.5ml litre
Rhizotonic @ 1ml litre
CalMag @ 1ml litre
Cannazyne @ 1ml litre
Epson salts @ half teaspoon per 15L
RO 1.6EC@5.8

ImageImage

Photos below are few days later, I checked the runoff EC few days back after their first feed & was surprised to see 2-3 EC, fresh straight RO with 200 PPM calmag & there looking better, last runoff 2 EC so 1 or 2 more 200 pm calmag waterings to bring them down to 1-1.5 EC & I will then resume with the feed listed above. PH runoff has remained in check @ 6-6.4 so nothing major to worry about.

Weather has been unusually cool last couple few weeks, flower peaks lights on high 28-30c / lights off low 23-25c & Im riding humidity levels from 60-85%...... yeah I know but I live by the ocean & I don't wanna run sealed so I manage best I can lmao I crunched the numbers actually shocking 750 euros a year moving air around, think it's time to switch to EC fans and possible future redesign of FRoom as shocking KWH.

Not sure what else to say, think I've covered it all. Update again couple weeks for the upskirt, pluck & final top net set.

Peace out & happy growing.

Re: RQS - Green Crack Punch

Post by 420mFuk »

OK so it's been a couple weeks since last update, pictures day 14 flower. Heres what Ive been upto :

In my last update Id noticed my EC spike so they had 2 or 3 more calmag waterings (0.4 EC) until the runoff settled at 1 EC, since then I reverted back to the feed listed in a earlier post (1.6 EC). My average temps *lights on* were holding 30-31C I'm now running AC to keep the space around 29-30c. My old HPS setup Id be running AC for a few weeks already.

Over the last couple weeks I've been removing some of the leafs up top to promote growth of the lowers & trying to keep a nice efficient level canopy. I also trimmed away a little of the bottoms nothing major. Added a layer of neem cake, dusting of diatomaceous earth & added some little sticky traps to the pots as there are some thrips and gnats, minor amounts but slight pest pressure, I keep threatening to buy some predators.

Overall me & the plants are happy with the progress thus far, they have filled out the 1x1 with 1 or 2 buds per trellis hole, stretch will continue with this cultivar into week 3 (possibility week 4), you can see by the net heights between updates these girls will finish 3 or 4 times larger than they started flower, during week 3 (next update) I will move the nets up a few inches, lollipop the bottoms & remove all the large fan leafs, this will stop any remaining stretch and set the plants up for the next few weeks... hopefully minimum maintenance after that other than the odd leaf pluck along the way.

Light is running 75% approx 30cm from the canopy, given the summer temps etc the ladies aren't showing any signs of heat stress and are growing nicely.

Regarding feeds : Very slight purple/red pinstriping on the main stem & very slight purple/red showing on underside of leafs at the top of the canopy, it's only very slight.... I will increase the calmag & epsom salts just a smidge to counteract this. Given recent temps & the slight pest pressure I did add mono silicate to a single feed to strengthen the ladies. Since I added the diatomaceous earth I will be bottom feeding the girls for a week so it stays dry on top.

Right thats enuff woffle for now, feel free to ask questions if there's anything I've missed, always happy to share/help & learn.

Peace out Growmies

The green crack is a top strain on its own, tis very skunkadelic and looks very much like old school skunk. i recon with purple punch slung in the mix you might be on a winner, not that I've grown purps punch. Anyhow best of mate.
