End of week six. Quite a few of the upper fan leaves turned crispy around the edges. I'm not sure what caused it, possibly a combination of too much light, too much water due to having to fill the base tanks before going on holiday and kelp added late causing K deficiency, maybe! It still looks like it will be a fairly decent haul. I'm not growing the Blue Dream Haze again. Not even sure it is a Haze, most of the pistils have turned brown already and calyxes are looking full way sooner than expected, maybe due to it being a hermie, but haven't seen any pollen released. The Sour D x Key Lime Pie smells best, a bit like ZCube, but yields will likely be poor. AK-47 has the biggest, best looking buds so far, but smells faintly of death. Ghost Train Haze upper leaves have all faded a lot, light burn perhaps.

End of week seven and the Blue Dream Haze was chopped a few days ago - pistils all brown, calyxes fully swollen and trichomes turning amber. I vaped some and it's pretty good, daytime stuff, makes me feel slightly anxious, not much flavour or aroma to speak of and nothing like HSO's Blue Dream, unfortunately, so I think my Blue Dream quest ends here. I may have been too frugal with the amendments, using just over half what was recommended and two plants per pot may be expecting a bit much, but at least there's some fairly decent sized buds this time.

Sorry to hear the blue dream wasn't to your liking. I've heard the strain is very hit and miss. HSO are a quilt breeder and no doubt hit it with some of their mental genetics to stabilize and make their version more consistent.

Lovey looking buds though.

Thanks mate, hard to know what a true Blue Dream should be like, but I don't think this Cali Connections version is anything like it. I wouldn't say the HSO one was stable either, but the effects and flavour were consistently good. I had many varied phenotypes (weird foxtailing sativas with colas that looked like a bunch of fingers and took ages to finish) chasing for a better yielding cut than the first one I should have kept, which yielded very tasty, dense popcorn.

End of week eight proper (I usually post on a Sunday) and the AK-47 has been chopped. I raised the net to support the remaining plants.

Poor yields again. The AK-47 looked promising, but less than 2oz, the Blue Dream Haze is only 26g, the Sour D x Key Lime Pie looks to be even less, and the Ghost Train Haze hasn't finished yet, but again, probably not much more than 2oz. Nice weed, but unsure whether to carry on given the rising cost of energy and effort vs outcome. I blame myself. It's likely I was overcautious with the amendments this time. I also think it has a lot to do with my choice of strains, with some yielding considerably less than others. Looking at the AK-47 I was thinking at least 4oz off that, but maybe it lacks density.
