Burgers n Beer by The Ranch

Burgers n Beer is Donny Burger X Rootbeer bc2 by The Ranch from San Diego CA. The pack is an F1 limited release from The Ranch and contains 15 seeds. I poured five seeds into my palm and off to soak in some water they go.

On the female side, the Donny Burger (GMO X (GMO X Larry OG F8)) is a creation of @skunkmasterflex. On the male side is Rootbeer bc2 (Rootbeer X (Rootbeer X Jaro)), a creation from @meangenefrommendocino. Naturally, I anticipate a Donnie Burger type of product from the cross.

Next day, I poured the seeds into some paper towels and placed in rapid rooters. Misted the rooters then placed a baggie over top the seeds. Put them into 18/6 veg area to germinate.

Left them undisturbed for the week, but no sign of life. So, in went the heat mat and a beach towel over-top so as to not scorch the seeds.

After an hour, signs of condensation within the baggie were showing. Next morning condensation still apparent, yet no sign of life.

This is where I pause and like to reflect on my mistakes, second guessing my techniques, and questioning everything. Why didn’t I soak all 15 seeds? @GMO and @Keeno will surely laugh at my dudded hype-on-hype purchase. So, I soaked the rest of the seeds.

Ended up planting an additional eight seeds, lost two but just found one, put baggies over top, waiting to see what happens.

Next morning, this is what I saw. Looks like two sprouted upside-down. Let’s give em a week to sort themselves out.

Yup been there hate the seedling/sprouting stage. It's a beautiful thing when goes good, when it fails it's like being kicked in the nuts by a toddler. You want to get hulk smash mad and there's no target Lol. For seeds that are a pain I've taken to this technique. Put seeds in whatever your preferred liquid solution is, put in the freezer and check every few minutes. When the first sign of ice forming happens take out and put in fridge for a couple hours then to countertop and let come to room temp. Apparently it tricks the embryo into thinking it's survived the winter and spring is here. Not my idea but worked for me, all credit to MR.Toad Boneyard genetics, I may not have gotten it word for word but close enough for me.

Sooner than I thought, these things jumped out the shell this morning. Removed the heat mat and baggies I used for domes. Tomorrow, I’ll pull them out of veg and inspect to make sure leaves are open. For the next week though, they’ll root through the rapid rooters before transplant.

Calling it at seven seedlings. One seedling was attacked by ants and died. So I vacuumed the drobe and put in an ant trap.
