Don't be stubborn like me and put all eggs in one basket
I wish I'd done it a while ago now.
Don't be stubborn like me and put all eggs in one basket
Daily feedings make me nervous, I'm quite lazy at times lol.
Thanks S,B I'll start doing that. Will leave out the calmag from now on and see how we go.seymore_budz wrote: ↑Fri Mar 04, 2022 1:18 amAhh you using Old Timers. They don't specify what water you should be using but being formulated by a UK grower and to work with UK water, I'd say it would favour hard water over anything. I'd start mixing the RO with tap water 1:1. That will give you a little buffer and should improve things. I'd not bother with the calmag either but that's up to you. RO sometimes causes more problems than good.
Thanks, Mr. Definetly getting there. Got a wonderful sweet hashy smell already. Can't wait to have buds falling out at me when i open the tent.
Seymore speaks alot of sense there man...first of all id fuck the calmag off as well, just not needed with hard water and yes old timer would have formulated those products for use with shitty uk water, the calmag is more than likely offered for the dutch/euro market who dont have the limestone these shores have, those calmag additives are kinda bullshit anyway, would be much more beneficial to add the cal and mag serperatley in the amounts you needed if you needed too anyhow.....as for ro water..never used it but guess you got mix it with something or its kind of null and void of mineralsseymore_budz wrote: ↑Fri Mar 04, 2022 1:18 amAhh you using Old Timers. You're correct with the RO water. RO water is incredibly pure and contains next to nothing. The trouble is that most bottled nutrients have been formulated for either hard or soft water. Hard being full of crap and soft being less crap. This is normally Calcium and Magnesium but can also be made up of other elements depending on the source. When you use RO water there is 0 of anything so by using these nutrients you will be short of calmag. You can add additional CalMag to compensate for that but it can be hard to find the correct balance. When using soil it took me about 6 months to figure out how much to add depending on the environment, nutrients & soil richness etc. You're much better to just mix the water 1:1 to create soft water and use that or even just use the hard water as is. If you're not using organic fertilisers or going yo be reusing the soil than it really doesn't make any difference. I'm not saying there's no benefits to using RO water but most of the time the complications it brings into your regime far outweigh the benefits.bimblebrains wrote: ↑Sun Mar 06, 2022 12:19 amSeymore speaks alot of sense there man...first of all id fuck the calmag off as well, just not needed with hard water and yes old timer would have formulated those products for use with shitty uk water, the calmag is more than likely offered for the dutch/euro market who dont have the limestone these shores have, those calmag additives are kinda bullshit anyway, would be much more beneficial to add the cal and mag serperatley in the amounts you needed if you needed too anyhow.....as for ro water..never used it but guess you got mix it with something or its kind of null and void of mineralsseymore_budz wrote: ↑Fri Mar 04, 2022 1:18 amAhh you using Old Timers.
