Tictok'sTKNL5Haze by AK Bean Brains

Post by Tictok »

Diary time again and this time it's something special (to me anyway!).

These are TKNL5Haze from AK Bean Brains, purchased direct from the man himself. It is said these are his signature strain.

The NL5Haze used in the cross is the original NL5Haze that Neville made back in original Sensi Seed days, crossed with Triangle Kush. So all proper old skool.

These are AKs F3s where three distinct phenos were found in the f2s (haze dom, NL dom and TK dom) so the f3 line was made with each apparently. These are NL dominant.

All in living soil, veg will be cramped sharing with two Gorilla Fume phenos on their second run.

60x60 tent, ISH150BR (love this light now I've got dialled in).

Then they will get moved eventually to the bigger flower tent. These are running Voost Led lights.

100% germ rate, hoping for fems

Me thinks these maybe big leggy plants that need plenty of support. Best of with your grow Tictok. :nice:

Cheers mn, from what I can gather AK Bean Brains had Neville's NL5Haze and when this was crossed with the TK, the resulting plants would be f2s. From this batch NL, TK and Haze phenos were spotted and these individually bred to make the f3 stock with the appropriate leaning.

Quite how this all happened is a mystery to me, but the logic is pretty much there.

I'm thinking the same @2-Scoops which will be a challenge as the two Guerilla Fume phenos are leggy buggers as well.

The veg tent will get busy while it waits for the flower tent to finish.

Best of luck with these @Tictok! With the NL dominance, I'd expect a sturdy and stout plant. Though, I cut four branches to hang one of my TK's and it cleared the house. Keep carbon filter in use!

I'll be watching from the sidelines as this is a great strain by a true breeder and preservationist.

Thanks @anova.330 , it's a real privilege running these. Listening to AK Bean Brains on the Potcast convinced me. He really is a true preservationist and if all goes well these will be run for years hopefully, to replace a low yielding NL5 I've been running for nearly two years.

Yes, carbon filter is all set up, I've gorilla taped up some gaps and even the drying box has a carbon filter so should be golden.

Thanks for dropping in.

Nice one @Keeno , good to have you on board. I'll update when I've sorted the damping off issue which I think is sorted now. The carbon filter was blocked which was giving me RH swings from 37 - 99%. :bang head:

A delayed update. Delayed because as above my seedling game has been rubbish, I've killed over half the pack trying to grow seedlings in the veg tent in the loft with RH and temps playing silly buggers. This has NOTHING to do with the genetics, totally my bad.

So decided to sort out the seedling game, bought two sunblaster T5s at 11w each, attached them to an old propagator and started again. A loft survivor went in first with one planted seed joining it and two more still in wet paper towels.

The survivor is now doing great, need to get a fan in there but temps and humidity are constant. Thank f*ck.

These genetics are so precious to me I thought I'd lost them all. Should have sorted the prop earlier.

So a bad start, but things are looking up.....

Heres a question, should these be in 24hr light or 18/6?? The Internet is a minefield on this one, so any advice would be much appreciated.
