I need to look underneath but I worry on supporting the lone stem as she grows?
TBH main stem shouldn`t need supporting and they are always strong enough, its the side branching when they have buds on that usually needs support. If you add a support net around 12 to 14 days into 12/12 at canopy hight the plants will have enough time to grow through to support themselves and stop any top heavy buds falling over. :boogie:

It`s a load of doo-dah (pooh) in my world, i stick with what i know, closer the better in bloom or 12 - 15 inches above plant and a little further away in veg 15 - 18inches above canopy is how i hang lights. I think it`s just how its been done since Adam & Eve invented the wheel :rolf:. You can have too much light theoretically but loadsa light = more buddage in my world, speaking from experience and many years growing and if your giving too much light plants would let you know ie: yellowing leaves closest to lights etc a bit like plants let you know if ya over feeding. Too many fandango jazzy bits of tech in growing nowadays and in all honesty its not needed imho. :nice:

@The Daze just remember really small young seedlings are easily burnt with light so set them higher when they`ve just sprouted and turn them down if possible. :)

They seem to be alright so far… I water the bigger plants twice a day now…. Once in the AM when I wake up and once more when I’m home for the evening…

The big bud auto has bounced back amazingly!
Week 7
Image

Almost 30 days for the Blue Dream Sherbert
I’ve done some LST on her … broke a few stems….
Gotten better at figuring out LST and plastic trainers hurt your plants… I switched to twisty ties on the two biggest branches to give room for the rest and she has sprung to life
This is before from maybe 4-5 days ago…
Image
And this is this morning at Day 28
Image
Super bushy!!!
About a week ago I topped them with Earth Dust Boost to increase the NPK intake and they are loving the uptake! I really wish I had some mycorrhizae for these ladies and think that would give them a boost immensely…

The smaller seedlings have taken off into their vegging state: Purple Punch Auto #1 is growing faster than #2
Image pheno one and pheno two
Image

The gifted Fro-Yo Auto is taking off well… Day 14… week two
Image

The GDP x Gumberry Auto is a mutant … she will be my first solo cup grow… I’ve been keeping a ziploc bag over the cup cause she prefers the higher humidity it seems
Image seven days from seed
Image this morning she looks well!

And lastly is an Instagram test seed called The Spotless Queen auto and she loves her little pot!
Image

They are running under a 200watt light… my PPFD runs between 350-800 and the plants seem happy.
I’m still using the grow with Jane app to keep track of dates and photos!
Image
Currently at full power…

This is my update for the first week of February 2022
Thanks for following along everyone!

Garden doing okay … I am wondering about defoliation on autoflowers

I don’t wanna mess up the progress I’ve got going on

Here is the Big Bud
Image
The under side is full of fan leaves doing really well
I say she’s maybe week one/week two of flower?
Image
All those lighter green areas have little pistols and are cluster like?

Wooo progress!

The blue Dream Sherbert is taking off into flower as well
Image

Her branches are full as well
Image

So where can I safely defoliate to allow better light in??

My smaller plants are vegging well. More on those when they grow a little more

Beautiful color on your ladies Daze. I know you smile when you crack that tent everyday.

Personally, I'd say just stay the course, see how this run goes for you and take what lessons you can from it.

Less is more now. I like your ambition to try some advanced horticulture techniques straight away though. Seems like you are navigating your light and watering schedule well and have a plan of attack to alter your ventilation to better serve your needs.

Stay vigilant :D

hi daze re autos and leaf removal ime only remove leaves when they go yellow and fade maybe some low down fan leaves can be removed because once shaded out the lowers tend to wither anyway, there fragile compared to photoperiods and easily stunted,i have found it best as little molestation as possible, good luck
