Well done, mate. You've done extremely well considering everything. If my plants were like that I'd be worried about bud rot setting in.Keeno wrote: ↑Sat Dec 11, 2021 6:18 pm
Final Update
Sorry for the lack of updates towards the end of this diary, my health took a bit of a battering but im on the mend and can finally wrap this up. Forst off ill talk about the strain. The old faithful Critical did not fail to impress yet again. The longer veg to get more tops above the net did mean the buds/colas were not as big but there were far more of them. Being the Critical these top were all solid. I ended up losing around 10 tops to mold, this was a combination of high humidity and not being well enough to be up there as often or for as long as id like during the last 4 weeks. Despite losing the tops this was a record-setting yield, ill get to the exact numbers in a bit as I think Invisible Sun wants to do a comp with the results.
The main idea with the more tops on the plants was to achieve more surface area exposed to the lights and environment. In my opinion, this is very important to get the most out of the resin production and cannabinoids present. And after a test run, this bud for weight has produced more oil than any other strain I've grown including this exact clone strain under the same light. It's a little bit longer to do but 100% has achieved the outcome I wanted to see.
The strain itself produces a sweet pungent aroma that has some real old-school funk to it. The sweetness is literally like sugar, a glycerine type smell. It's sweet throughout veg and flower but by week 5 it's a beast. Resin production is mad, the heads of the trichomes are so large the shape is clearly visible to the naked eye. It's a slimer, similar to only the agent orange that I've grown. Rubbing against the plant will leave a slime trail during flower. When handled as harvest it's a light sand color that's grainy in texture. When slightly agitated it turns to a caramel like texture that stays, I've got finger hash from the trim that's been left out for 3 weeks and is still like caramel. I cannot wait to do a hash run with the trim from this one.
The plants in my opinion were ready for harvest as early as week 7 of flower. I ran them 10 weeks as I always like to overcook the plants. They gor a full 15 day flush.
If my health hadn't had got in the way i think could have got a fair bit more from this growth despite it being my biggest to date. Things like tying up the tops and clearing the undergrowth would have made for a more productive end result. The new diary is about to go live and a proper review of the ISH X Bar will get its own topic.
Total weight for the full grow and the test plants will be posted soon.
What I will say before the full review and weights are revealed is that if I had the money Id replace every light with the ISH X Bar today.

Final Update
Time to see what these lights produced... It's evident from the images alone that the 300w ISH X Bars kept up with the 720w they were growing against. The thing you cant see from images or videos is the bud density, this was identical on both the 720w side and the 300w side. The only place the X Bars slightly slacked was penetration compared to the 720w. This is to be expected with such a low wattage covering 16 square feet.
Total weights per light
Each light covered a 1.2 x 1.2m area of scrog net, each plant had 60 x 60cm of space.
The ISH 720w custom light produced 35 ounces of bud. This is in line with the 2 previous grows using this light and this strain.
The 2 x 150w ISH X Bars produced 33 ounces of bud.
720w producing 35 ounces = 1.36 gram per watt.
300w producing 33 ounces = 3.08 grams per watt.
The 300w numbers are impressive, to say the least. What I think this proves is if enough light can be produced even at low wattages then low wattage fixtures can and will keep up or beat higher wattage units. I gave no doubt the quality of the light is the reason for the result. I also think this light and the 720w pushed the strain to the limit of yield per tops/area. I've grown this plant 4 times now, under 600w HPS, 480w Invisible Sun LED, 720w Invisible Sun LED, and ISH X Bar, all have produced low to mid 30's in ounces for the same growing area. The Way Invisible Sun LED achieved this by adding an insane amount of LEDs running extremely efficiently literally means these X Bars are showing the gig brother models up in the range. The key is the spread of light and enough of it. At 1m Long and with the number of diodes, this light achieves that. The plants get the amount of light they need from the low wattage. Mad respect to @Invisible Sun for a outstanding fixture.
The fixtures are expensive but to run at half the wattage and get the same result is more than worth it IMO. These are now on my birthday and Xmas list.
I've already started a repeat of this test but this time will include the ISH 650 which was in this grow but not over the critical. On a side note the ISH 650 produced 32 ounces of bud from 4 plants at the other end of the net, so my first go with the ISH 650 got 1.38 grams per watt. The next grow will be cloned critical under all 3 lights.

Banging video @Keeno
Finally LED has caught up with the final numbers in weight and you've proven it. Can't wait to see what my ISH can do now :-)
