Re: Green Hand Organic Grow 75L
I'm lost with all the chat on ferts and microbes...., hopefully my subconscious is writing it all down. Looking forward to her growing up and getting large, good growing Rik all the best on it fella.

Re: Green Hand Organic Grow 75L
Thanks Dal
You know, it does stuck in the mind, I re listen to some older podcasts and it refreshes the info but also makes you realise which bits you remember and have learned.
Microbes is a hefty subject though. There's folks that know so much more than I.... @Chad.Westport I think has some education on soil or something similar.
It's a mind bending thing to delve into. Many a head ache and head fook

No @KD i really think, well im pretty confident saying its lack of ferts just going by looks of the plant as a whole, whether its under-ferting or lockout of some sort im unsure tbh. But if i was a betting man taking a wild guess I'd say microbes haven`t been doing their jobs and clocking on late for work and tossing it off talking and smoking all day long instead of doing their shift at work as they should be those lazy fookers
.
Along lines of certain types of microbes break down the organic matter by eating it and then shitting out ions, which plant can take up to feed itself, where as using synthetic ferts cuts out the micro-life shitting turds out for food bit and the ions are readily available more or less instant.
From what I've read in past ions are ions whether they`re cations or anions, science can`t tell a difference if its from synthetic salts or organic matter. Man a lot of that turned into a rant about nowt you asked really but, well kinda, but maybe @MrNice can take a read of it as well.
Then again It could even be a caused by a chemical imbalance within his medium caused by too many positive charged ions (cations) or negative charged ions (anions) I`m far from clued up on this but i kinda know little bits & bats from lots of reading up and its none too recent so it could be quite a bit vague that explanation of how shit works.

I think you're right. Microbes need oxygen too and from what you said earlier Rik... You've over watered your medium and they're suffocating. Let it dry out a bit and she should be okay

Re: Green Hand Organic Grow 75L
That makes sense as I am using horizon layers and the microbes are probably quite happy to stay inside a permeous rock or a bit of bio char lol.2-Scoops wrote: ↑Mon Dec 13, 2021 1:31 pmNo @KD i really think, well im pretty confident saying its lack of ferts just going by looks of the plant as a whole, whether its under-ferting or lockout of some sort im unsure tbh. Re: Green Hand Organic Grow 75L
Do use sugars of some sort like molasses in your watering's or feeds say once weekly Rik ? Molasses is proper magic shit for those microbes amongst other things. Not only that but if you make up a good bucket and bubble it in water a few days or stir as much as possible daily before giving to plants it will come to life with aerobic bacteria which need oxygen to live and which i also here is good shit for plant and those will help break down certain organic matter in your medium as well. I wouldn`t bubble it longer than or i should say use it after 4 or 5 days cus it does start to stink up and become anaerobic and those dont use or need oxygen from what I've read and i here that int best for roots what with certain stinky bad egg smelling pathogens etc. But read up on those its a simple enough process to sling 1 tablespoon per gallon into some water and bubble it and when it starts to froth up give it plants. Win win their i woulda thought. Summink I've done quite a lot with sugars in times gone by but more for a carb booster although it still comes to life with bacteria
