Okay, all done, just need to leave them cook a few days until the temp goes back down to room temp.
First up for these pots then are 2 Amy Ace's, a C99 and a white rhino, they are all in the veg tent ready to go in sometime next week.

Okay, the pots have finally cooled down, temp went over 50Β°C after about 24 hours and has slowly cooled down, I gave them a light spray of water and left one of the lights on and the fan running for a bit.
Not sure if any worms will have survived that heat but maybe away from the centre?

I have also added the remaining dolomite to the top of the horizontal pots along with some worm castings and watered it in.

I applied Hypoaspis miles to the soil of all four pots due to my thrip issue.
I also checked the pH of the horizons pots and they seem to be levelling off nicely, once I have this trip infestation under control, I'm going to plant some alfalfa seeds in it and see how they do.
The two plants I have transplanted are both looking much healthier in spite of the thrips!

I got some mosquito bits (Bacillus Thuringiensis Subspecies Isrealensis), soaked some in water for 30mins and watered all the soil with it. This should kill any fungus gnat larvae in the soil

Get on the living soil

Lovely jubbly, I have got my thermo at the ready.

Do you have a link to you're horizon layers or haven't you shared anything in detail......?

I've decided to try something slightly different in mine. So we shall see how it turns out.

So, the alfa are you groing as a cover crop or as a companion plant...?

All the info for the horizons stuff is on this thread and the embedded video, what else we're you thinking?
I'm not sure about the alfalpha, initially it's going to be to see if the soil can be grown in lol!

Nice one, that was an interesting read.
Will be good to see how many grows you get from it.
My father in law used to empty all his plant pots at the end of the season and sieve out the roots, all the soil would go into a barrel where he would just leave it till next year and then use it again, he’d do that every year for all sorts of plants.
I’m amazed anything grew in it but year after year he was producing tomatoes, strawberries, beans and all sorts in pots, to my knowledge he never used to reinforce the soil before using it again either.
If he can do that then I’m looking forward to seeing what you get
