Afton's 2021 organic outdoor adventure

Post by Afton »

Hello All!
Just arrived here through some mentioning of a few people from my other forum The Green Circle.
So lets get right to it then!
I am an outdoor grower here in Cali and do some of my girls in the ground and some in 45 gallon smart pots.
Eventually they will all be in the ground but it takes a bit as digging hole in cement like dirt sucks!
A small back hoe could knock it all out quicker than me digging and saving my ole back.
I back fill the holes with good soil and none of the stuff that gets dug up as it is just crap.
Just gets a bit costly so I have only done 2 a year but that is another story.
I started doing the super soil bit about 2 or 3 years ago and last year went Organic.
Organic bud from the ground is some of the best weed I have had.
It is extremely smooth and the flavor and smell is crazy intense. Will never do it any other way now.
This year I put out 1000 worms in each of my 4 in ground girls. All right in the middle under each girl.
Can't put any in the 45 gallon smart pots as they get a bit warm and the worms just die in them.

My Super Soil Recipe:

This is for 2 big kiddie pools about 5 foot round and about 1 and a half feet deep.
Or 2 45 gallon smart pots in 1 kiddie pool does the job too as I reuse my soil every year.
I do nothing scientific with the super soil just took from here and there and see how the girls grow and
make adjustments every year.

Each kiddie pool get a 30lbs Earthworm castings and a half a bag of Happy Frog Soil Conditioner that is 3cuft.
Plus I bag of steer manure or Chicken manure.
Each dry amendment is split between the 2 kiddie pools. Most is from Down to Earth.
5lbs. Feather Meal
5lbs. Blood Meal
10lbs. Alfalfa Meal
5lbs. Dolomite Lime
10lbs. Green Sand
5lbs. Fish Bone Meal
5lbs. Oyster Shells
5lbs. Bone Meal
5lbs. Langbeinite
5lbs. Crab Meal
10lbs. Neem Seed Meal
10lbs. Sea Bird Guano
5lbs. Bio Live
3lbs. Epson Salts
5lbs. Azomite
6 cups of Humeric Acid
2.2lbs. Mykos

I made 4 batches this year for all my girls and still have 1 left over due to 3 girls didn't get any root growth for some odd reason.

Ok now the 4 strains I'm growing this year are:
Sundae Driver
Death Punch
Grape Ape/Do-Si-Do Did not root well
Super Sour Diesel

I was debating on whether or not to do a grow this year as I had a record braking year last year.
Waited too long to do the seeds I had so had to go with all clones this year.
Started them out in my veg/drying room in April under 3 1000 led lights.
They all went out in a weeks time in the 3rd week of May.
Only issue was they went into flower and I topped off all the bud sites so a bit of a slow down on my vegging.
Just started to get some new growth so I should still be ok as I don't usually flower until the 2nd week in August.
Super soil was late too so the girls got a bit of nutrient burn going on but pulling out of it now.
The only thing the girls get from here on is Silica, molasses, compost tea, and when it is super hot like this week was
I'll add a half dose of Neptune's Harvest Rose and Flower for the kelp and fish to help the girls with high temps.
It was 109-113F this week so the girls in the pots get water every day and the girls in the ground 2-3 days with 1 good deep watering.

The roots never took off so they will stay in the 5 gallon air pots until the dhow me some serious growth.
I give them a quarter turn every day and they are in sunlight from sunrise to 6-7pm.
This will be my 5 or 6 year growing again since I was a lot younger.

That's all Folks!

Take care and thanks for stopping on by.
