Morning troops so looking a bit of advice. I'm coming to the end of my very first organic grow. And I know I dont have to flush this time. But I was wondering do I just Chop them soon as soon as the trichomes tell me they are ready? Or is there anything I have to do to them before I Chop?
Morning man, I did my first organic grow for my run not living but still organic. From what I remember yes you can chop as some as the trichomes are at your ideal amount of milky/amber colour, a good sign I believe is when you start getting them autumn colours in your leaves like you'd get when your flush, as you otherwise your plant might still have nuts in. Think this why should of left my longer but was a very good smoke still had black ash tho :(

The idea of flushing is to wash away any salts usually. Although I have heard you can in organics especially if runnning in coco using bottled organics, using living soil there is really no need. I just chop when I deem is ready for me and my situation, I don't worry about flush times or anything.

I have found the weed is very string smelling though since using GHO's stuff. So ensure a good filter maybe

The quality of the bud is amazing too. I have had 3 plants down recently. A tester of an organic bottle stuff in coco, and 2 GHO. The two GHO are incredible. The terps are just amazing too. I swear it's the soil.

Hows it going troops, just a quick one. So the little ones are doing really well however they seem to have got an infestation of these little flys. Think they are attracted to the smell of the soil or something but I have 4 sticky pads to try get them. Hoping to plant them up in 2 weeks so wanna try and get then all before they move into the groom. Are they bad for the plants? They look like wee midges ImageImage

Welcome to the world of organic growing

I had been battling these, myself recently. They look like the old fungus gnat. Little fkers get right up ya nose and in ya ears :ak:

I use nematodes when I can get hold of them. This time of year in the UK they seem easy to get.

They hate high heat, like 30 degrees plus. I have used a mix of water and apple cider vineagr and some bicarbinate, use it as a spray around the pot and the soil. They hate high acidity.

Insect frass kills them off too.

Cheers buddy for the help, yeah the wee bastards were everywhere when I opened the tent yesterday lol the 4 sticky pads have caught loads of them. Think in gonna go up and sprinkle some frass in each pot got loads of it sitting there. Do they damage the plants mate?

Look up using SLF-100, it's totally organic enzymes really good for the plants (I swear by the stuff now) but a side effect is that it kills the larvae of fungus gnats etc. Got rid of my fly problem.
