I take it you're still rocking the drain to waste buckets aye?
With all the shit ive had with hydro lately, (root issues etc) i have to say, looking at them, im tempted to try coco again.
Hows the trimmer working out for you mate??
they save loads of time for me like.
Cheers for that one mukka.DIY.Rik wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 12:11 pmThis is where I got mine from mate @2-Scoops:
I 1st fill it (be careful as the base sometimes comes off easily) pack it down finger tight and repeat 3 times. Then use a G-Clamp to squeeze it down as hard as you can, this just ensures when you really give it some force it presses straight and doesn't bind. There is loads of clearance. I then use a good bence vice. I heat it a little with a flame and then clamp it as hard as I can. Then you may need to give it a small amount of heat, not too much or you will ruin the puck when you take it out.
Heating slightly eases pulling the piston back up then free the puck from wherever it gets stuck to.
The more pressure you give the better the hash, to a mcertain point, or it just falls apart.
I use sift trays, they're called micron lab trays oir something. From China but it works well. Keeps me stocked upI just need to learn to grow enough weed to keep all my flower and hash jars topped up

No worries. I spent ages wasting my time with those little ones you get with the kief collecting grinders. Then tried uising the g clamp on it but the plastic didn't last long lol

Re: Mixing it up a bit growing 2 x future#1
So i do have one that was made for me out of a bit of landing gear from airbus plane, pretty cool it is and works on a similar principal your doing here, ive never used it tbh but if i get around to it i may have a pop at some point. Tbh I thought the way you were doing it the press was a screw press type thing.
Yes they are a very nice size for a 400hps and 100watter led combo, like a 1pint can of beer sized, i like it lots, that`s the hps bulbs for you though, nice and sticky solid buds too, so am well happy mate. They`ve been on water only feeds for around a week now, so another week to 10 in total and they should be good to go, tbh as ive mentioned previous they could easily do 11 weeks, but i put them on water a little too early for that, but i`ll see how they look next week before deciding chop or not. Cheers mate

Re: Mixing it up a bit growing 2 x future#1
That may be something to consider in Winter for the future, as I have current;y started using a heater in the main area to bring the whole ambient temps up outside both tents.
As for the hash, some of those pro presses are silly money. I may engineer one myself one day when I have enough dry sift to make bigger blocks.
You'll be flying off that then

Yes it`s horse for courses as saying goes, its all about saving a bit of dosh too if possible, i swear i wouldnt use led grow lights in cooler months for simple reason heaters on 24/7 cost a bloody fortune and hps does all that for me and much much more @DIY.Rik Cheers man. :)

I see why you like HPS. Looks banging in there bruv. Your heat issues with cold are why I like LEDs cause it's hot here. Been a dream since I switched.

Re: Mixing it up a bit growing 2 x future#1
Yes ive nowt against growing with led myself i mean these are under a 100watt led and 400hps and i`ll prolly be switching out the 400 hps come Summer for the 350 Samsung quantum led i bought, but i just think led are shit in comparison to hps for growing weed. Just my opinion Dave is all, i mean i dont know whether you looked back but i did this strain last under my new 350 quantum led and nah wank man, it grows nice buddage and gets me smashed just like hps grown weed does, theirs just not enough in comparison, led just doesnt seem to have that final push like a hps bulb has mate. I can see why your using led out their though as well
