Re: Minty - AutoPot Grow - Assisted by 2-Scoops
the white stuff is salts, which have built up in the medium as you are watering from below. just rinse out the coco it will be fine
Dexs are most likely calcium deposits from his mega hard bastid water

Re: Minty - AutoPot Grow - Assisted by 2-Scoops
I haven't considered that buddy but fir my ladies what I have to do is leave water for at least 24hrs standing then I put about 2 ml of pH down which drops water to pH of about 3 then put feed in and coco somehow sorts it out to a proper pH lol its crazy but I worked this 2ml pH down a few years ago by accident lmao and plants were not yellow so it stuckbigbadbillybob wrote: ↑Wed Nov 11, 2020 11:15 pmdont think you want to add salt to plants water.

Re: Minty - AutoPot Grow - Assisted by 2-Scoops
i would be giving it some thought, because it sounds like your water is pretty grim mate.
A basic system isnt all that expensive, but it would help massively i reckon.
it will bring it down to ec of 0.0, so you would have to add trace nutrient and/or cal mag to bring it up to 0.,2 before adding in your normal A and B etc.
SAying that, your plants always look on point anyway, so i suppose if it aint broke, why fix it eh?

Have you thought about using a reverse osmosis filter Dex?
https://www.screwfix.com/p/bwt-10tab-wa ... 10kg/1824h
this was the stuff says
"Ideal for regeneration of domestic and smaller commercial water softeners. Rapidly dissolves to produce premium quality brine. Manufactured from pure dried vacuum salt to ensure purity. "
but reverse osmosis would be much better tho

Re: Minty - AutoPot Grow - Assisted by 2-Scoops
I use an RO Filter and it probably needs the filter part replacing as the EC is about 0.04 rather than 0.0 but that could just be caused by me storing a tanks worth of it (as it takes so long to filter etc).
