Spanish police have arrested a couple after spotting a cannabis plant that had grown to 16 feet in their garden.

Officers were issued with a search warrant to access the property in Molina de Segura near Murcia, south-east Spain, having been alerted by the tell-tale smell coming from the monster plant.

They were eventually forced to cut up the tree, which was more than 16 feet high and just as wide, in order to take it away in smaller pieces.
