Tbh with you clay pebbles aren`t best and should be pre-soaked at correct ph over night, maybe that has summink to do with it, that said ive never had problems when using them and ive never prepped them, i don`t use them nowadays i use more perlite or just coco.

Video don`t work right but mate my lappy is shite although i did recently change out drive to an SSD one it is a bit faster than it was loading stuff up now. Just ran video again 2nd time it ran brilliantly

Plants look sound tbh @Minty do you think those domes are gimmicks or not, if you`ve got them on with 2 plants, i`d be ditching those next time round cus theirs no bloody difference what so ever looking at your pictures After watching video again and again x2 i think the darker one is a bit further on than other. Does the greener plant have air dome ? iff so i`d turn it on with other, but if it`s other way around i`d turn it off on one with.

I think there are still issues with the video and content distribution so your best bet is to let it buffer then refresh it I guess until we can sort that.

I would say they are 'gimmicky' but also serve a purpose. I wouldn't recommend getting them unless you are already running an air pump but I already had the air pumps and use it for the Res so I don't see any harm coming from adding some additional air to the nutrient feed within the pots.

I don't think the colour has anything to do with the Air Domes as she was always smaller and a little lighter, even before I started using the Air Domes. If anything I would say it is the lack of wicking as the lighter one is always dry at the top for as far as I can push a finger down. I did suspect it is the amount of clay pebbles but looking back she was lighter even when being top feed:-

image.png
Originally the dark one did not have an Air Dome which left the lighter one and the one that got removed using the Air Domes. But the one that got removed did not show the same lighter colour so

:idn:

She is definitely a couple of days behind the darker one in terms of flowering, probably caused by the fact I kept cutting her roots off (as they kept growing towards the Auto Pot Valve) before I got the Root Control Socks? She has also had a lot more defoliating etc (just because she is more accessible being in the front).

Image

To be honest, there are no signs of bugs & no signs of nutrient burn, so I am happy with how they are chugging along at the moment.

I would definitely recommend using the Root Control Socks over the shitty pads for sure. Seems to have solved the roots hitting the valve issue for now.

Not lack of wickinig mate roots will be right down bottom of pots taking on ferts now, it doesn`t matter about tops of pot so much. Maybe different pheno`s what with them being seeds.

I know, I literally just said that to @Nanook and that's not even including the Tropical Cookies (or the new Animal Cookies). To be fair I seem to have started 'medicating' much more often since not having to pay crazy prices for it and down to just one jar of the Easy Bud left which I hope I can stretch out to last until one of the others has dried cured etc (but not likely). I did buy 6 jars though and have 5 empty at the min so something aint right ;o)

OK so I always remembered posting this comment when I first joined the Forums so only fair for @Mr Nice to so politely bring the subject to my attention again (Melon bastard just want's to make me work and is trying to distract me so that my Tropical Cookies don't get any bigger) - but I have a soft spot for 'Mr Not So Nice' so he right I should back up my bull shite with the readings that I have promised him at least twice already ;O) Sorry @Mr Nice Bro, you know how it is with having FUCK ALL time left since starting growing :-{

Now granted this was a quick stick my phone in to see if it actually registered and I should do it again when sober and not so stoned... But I guess the difference in LUX is to do with the spacing of the Invisible Sun RStrips which due to the loft beams splitting my tent are closer together in the rear 4 Strips than they are in the front 4 Strips:-

Image

Image

So I installed the Android App and got my arse into the loft and finally did some readings which using my OnePlus7T came out at:-
  • 30000 LUX at canopy level for the front plant (with lights dimmed)
  • 32000 LUX at canopy level for the back plant (with lights dimmed)
  • 32700 LUX at canopy level for the front plant (with lights full power)
  • 32767 LUX at canopy level for the back plant (with lights full power)
against the following canopy:-

Image
Image

Taking these reading and calibrating the resulting LUX readings into PAR based on which type of Light Spectrum you have:-

Image

Gives me with my (Invisible Sun RStrips) a base temperature spectrum of 3500K which I think equates to the following:-

Code: Select all

3500K (Doggo App Reading / 100) = PAR Reading
  • 300 PAR at canopy level for the front plant (with lights dimmed)
  • 320 PAR at canopy level for the back plant (with lights dimmed)
  • 327 PAR at canopy level for the front plant (with lights full power)
  • 327 PAR at canopy level for the back plant (with lights full power)

Which is obviously bull shit when considering my original research:-

And note: this is my own research before I really knew anything about LED's etc so any clarifications especially from @Invisible Sun are more than welcome.

Image

these 'Un-Educated Guesses' were based on the following official stats:-

Image

And how well the actual plants seem to be doing:-

ImageImageImage

So I suspect the software has changed since I originally installed it and further research is needed OR I am just wankered and can no longer understand my own shit - which is most likely possible - updates will follow ;o)

Full credit to where I heard this Lux to Par conversion from:-

Now then i knew you`d find us here. Hows tricks fella. :bye:

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

So @Minty can you explain to what lux, par, lumen, umol and whatever else light terms means in laymans terms and why isn`t lumens took as the standard measurement for lighting up weed plants anymore, maybe its because a 600 led can`t get close to a 600hps at 90.000 to 100.000 lumens, so it doesn`t look good in sales clap trap ? I just know whether they can or can`t but it was always lumens used by growers and grow shops until LED lighting hit town, but yes ive always used lumens and all rest goes over my head. Great question or what mate, you know it is. :thanks:

Plants look top draw and are frosting up good style, nice mate. :oik!:
