Day 66 Update

Hydro has just started flowering and while only a week behind the others she seems to have spent a lot more 'personal' time in Veg mode:-

Image

Perlite which was the original Hydro (but I snapped the roots off and had to effectively turn her into a clone) has recovered well considering (guessing I would say loosing the lower 50% of her body set her back about a week - which is impressive - weeds rule):-

Image

Coco, who is the same age as Perlite (although didn't get snapped in half and has a reasonably easy life considering how I punish my plants) has stopped stretching but is still too close to the light at the moment :-

Group Photo (from left to right - Hydro (58 days old) - Coco (66 days old) - Perlite (66 days old)

Hydro as a growing medium seems to be really good in the Veg stage as I reckon my current 'Hydro' is going to overtake both the others that are a week older very shortly!!

that's amazing Minty. Really cool diary. How are you planning to support the plants once they get heavy buds?

To be honest I have yet to see heavy buds so will deal with that 'issue' if it happens! I hope I do get that issue mate but I'm still a noob ;o)

If you can keep the leaves from transpiring to much moisture, I’ll be surprised if she don’t root! Young ones like that are pretty easy to change cell function in
Hey @Joker59 mate, your original quote is regarding the 'NOW' Perlite one and as you can see your advice was spot on. But on the original note, I have since stuck the branches that I originally cut off the Coco into a glass of nutrients that I just left on the bathroom window sill and not only are they still alive but have been flowering and producing buds (of a fashion) - Might not turn out to be a smoke etc but they look pretty and I find them really interesting that they still live and are even flowering but have no root?

Image

They must have some sort of root-age going on as they often hold air bubbles in that mist around the stems and while the little leaves they have are yellowing they seem pretty happy for now. Pretty much just a cool little experiment but already surprised at how they are doing.

I have YoYo's mate, I don't think I have as many as @Nanook, but I don't think my buds will need 50+ YoYo's - Nookie is just excessive and not only with Wine ;O)

Just wanna Welcome @B.G. to the #TeamTropical

Couple of update pics for Day 68 while I am here:-

Image

Hydro on the left is worrying as she is a week younger than the other two (far right is the one I snapped in half) and only just starting to flower so hopefully not going to stretch as much as Coco in the middle ;o)

Yayyy I love being right! 😆

Those branches appear to have some sort of mycelium or something growing around them, could definitely be helping the plant uptake. Salt form nutes too are super easy for the plant to suck up to right, capillary action is insane.

If you left them for a while they would probably root and reveg, they are just trying to focus 100% on flower right now as a last ditch effort to reproduce lol changing light back to veg could make them take, as a experiment lol
