Yes 70mm of clayballs is way too much down their, the fert mix needs to wick up through those yet, it`s not a biggi but really you just need 1 or 2 layers of clayballs down their for future reference.Tbh it`s prolly a good idea what your doing atmo letting them veg under smaller light for a week or so till roots have travelled right down to pot bottoms, then it shouldn`t matter about depth of clayballs. But if you turned those domes on without a shed load of roots down their i`m pretty sure system wouldn`t work as it`s meant too and possible problems, but that`s not gonna happen cus roots will be down their in plenty in a few or 3 weeks, just hold off turning those domes on for 3 weeks.

I don`t think that it`s a worry about coco getting into the domes, coco is airy and air will be blasted around it down in their no matter what. If i remember rightly coco is always gonna have around 25% - 30 % air in it (air filled porosity, AFP) even when staturated and a mix with clayballs the medium will hold shit loads more air. Perlite is best for mixing with coco at 70coco/30%perlite and gives an air filled AFP around 40%, again just for future reference Minty. :)

Thanks 2-Scoops as always.

I drilled some holes in the top of the pots to use later in training / tie downs and they seem to be doing fine after the toppings:-

Excuse the missing leaf tips - I dropped the fan on it ;p)

I might swap them around tomorrow and move one of the outter pots into the middle for a while to give them an equal share.

That sounds interesting! Will be keeping an eye to see how it works. Do you have a plant without one to compare?
Pick one Bulls mate. You decide which one doesn't get the Air Dome so there is no bias in the science mate ;o)

Be interesting to see if they do actually make a difference. Assuming any of them survive my brutal growing skills!

Following image shows the tent size and location (with the airing cupboard where they currently are directly under) :-

Image

This image shows an approximation of the joist splitting the available space in terms of the tent:-

Image

The two Dinky seedlings are 2 seeds I germinated for a mate to do with what he likes as he seemed interested, but he has fucked about too much for them to do much. Either way mate they are just temps in the airing cupboard - just trying to keep a mate happy ;o)

The loft space is still taken by the single auto I have still alive but there is plenty of room for 3 more plants once the heat gives up etc

Just need to remove one pot and shorten the pipes on the other remaining pot freeing up plenty of space mate.

gh trio with some pk does great. Mixes well and lasts a long time also
Can you expand on the PK side Josh mate, which one would be compatible etc. I was looking at getting some but there are so many. Would you recommend a PK addition to the GH Trio that you have used or know is good when used in combination etc?

Thanks mate.

I start using liquid koolbloom (0-10-10 NPK) at a low amount along with my base nutes after stretch is done, slightly increasing the koolbloom every week.

The last week of feeding I switch to the dry koolbloom (2-45-28 NPK ) and then just plain tap for 4-5 days

Sound that is Minty we should get 3 in their no problem mate.

Canna Pk boost well it`s pk13/14 for a tenner per liter which has been around since Adam & Eve call me old fashioned i am, but any pk13/14 works. Call me a synic but my honest opinion is all rest are overpriced and makers are conning fuck out of growers cus its exact same chemicals used in bottles but x 5 or x 10 as much for different numbers, now don`t get me wrong peeps and makers of other ratios say 13/14 int designed for weed growing, that proper cracks me up as well, at end of shift weed plant will take in what it wants from the mix. i use for 3 weeks from around week 5 or 6 depending on flowering times

Go with jimmi's advice over mine Minty, tbh this is only my 3rd grow using a pk boost so I need to play around a bit and see what works best. I was also thinking of swithing to canna 13/14 weeks 5-8, just expensive as fuck over here in the states!

Most of it is all same stuff Josh if it says pk13/14 on bottle, well that`s unless its of the organic variety, but the mineral based pk 13/14 think its generally just potassium oxide and phosphorous oxide used to make it, so it doesn`t matter what branding is, i only buy canna pk 13/14 cus itys cheapest round these parts if any were cheaper id buy that brand.

Day 29 Update

Been feeding them daily as advised with the approximate schedule:-

Image

The middle one is still looking a little pale green and not sure what to do about that but other than the previous over nutrient burn it seems to be doing all right so unless I hear different just going to sit it out.

Got a video update but ignore the two new germination attempts as these are new and for a couple of competitions being covered by a another single Grow Diary - Can't get me enough of all these plants at the moment ;o)
