I`m not sure what 363ppm is EC wise but i googled it and looked at some charts which say it`s equivalent to anything from 0.5 to 0.7ec dependent upon type of ppm pen your using
This is the type of thing I want to cover with my forum improvement suggestions - backup needed ;o)

Yea sorry, mate I am still trying to work out an exact conversion from both the EC sensors I have from PPM to EC. Will try and get this sorted.

I'm using RO Water which is why I am adding CalMag.
My tap is water is soft and doesn`t contain calcium or magnesium, i just use softwater ferts which i think have added calcium and magnesium, i might be wrong though, but ive never used calmag in my life with softwater. I can`t see it hurting anything by the way and if owt you`ll prolly see bigger faster growing plants from using it, so it`s all good either way, i just thought i`d mention it mate. :)

Appreciated mate - and I think you are right about the soft water vs hard water nutrients but for the full hydro grow it recommends adding the CalMag and so I just kinda followed the same schedule (after adjusting the weeks). While they are not showing any issues I will just keep going with what I have been so far and we can adjust if needed.

Quick update video for you mate - 12 days old (ones a little knocked over because I beat the shit out of it - 'touched it gently' ):-

they are a bit scraggly so may need to up-potted soon to bury them skinny stems but :idn: your the Mr. Miyagi and I still need to sort out the tent and remove one hydro pot and fit the AutoPots which I am hoping to do this weekend.

They are still alive so you should be proud ;o)

Depends which ppm scale the pen uses eh?

My guardian is 700 scale, meaning 700 ppm is 1.0 EC. But for a pen that uses the other scale, 500 ppm would be 1.0 EC

most of the cheaper ones work off 0:50, id say your is the exception , rather than the rule.
but even if his pen is 0.70, the difference at 1.0ec is only 0.2, which is nothing in the real world..

Thank you Mini - I removed the top pebbles and back feed some fresh Coco before putting the top pebbles back on and I think it helps (at least the middle one is looking sexy - other two still lanky bitches but what can I do :-)

Very Useful, this will be going into my personal notebook and hopefully into a central area on the forums one day ;o)

Exactly Josh, and this is why I really think we should have a central location with all this stuff in where you can taylor down the results based on the PEN you enter etc. I just don't think anyone is understanding my crap explanation of it all ;o) Apart from Nanook - he gets it ;o)

Agreed, but it is useful to know and if an online form/page could just work out that shite for you, I think it would be beneficial and something that would attract repeat visitors via google and people just searching this stuff for a quick chart. My idea is that it remembers your shitty PEN selection and next time you visit the chart should be 'calibrated' as much as we can at least.

Just ideas that I am having that I really think would help people.

That way we get a kinda free advertising by good Google Search Rankings if you know what I mean?

So if you pot up this weekend, well you know script, but yes just put the copper matting at pot bottoms and just up sides a wee bit to cover all holes in pots and add a few layers of clayballs and rest your coco/clayball mix. Then give the whole lot a really good soaking from top with a fert mix before adding plants, then pot up burying right down, you`ve already said why and then add pots to system, turn it on, all systems are a go, your up running. Use an ec around 0.5-0.7`ish @ ph 5.8 as you have been doing. The plants may then need another small feed around plants at some point in first week, but you can suss that as you go along, kinda if they look thirsty give them a little slurp but i doubt they will but you never know, that said the medium once soaked from top first time is gonna have plenty of wet in it to last those small plants prolly 5 days without a worry even with it drying out in heat and imo that`s more than enough for getting the system rocking properly.

One last thing on calmag and ferts in general, so yes i do kinda get use of calmag with the ferts your using which are made by General Hydroponics and produced mainly for US markets. Well myself i`m of the thinking if your in UK your always best buying ferts that are made in UK which are tried and tested on UK water by manufacterers and growers alike.

Thanks 2 Scoops. Hopefully be on that tomorrow.

Day 13 and they are looking good (once I get them steams buried)
