Looking good mukka. Iv thought about starting in soil see a few growers do that then move to coco. How are you finding it.

I have never found it a problem in the past 88 so yeh its fine. I just let these get hungry as i am just using water for the Auto and could not be bothered to mix up nutes for such young plants. Now in the coco i mix 10 liters of feed set at 5.5 ph and a EC of 0.8 that lasts me about 5 days. The reason i set to low a ph is that as time goes by the ph drifts upwards.

44 day update.

The strawberry cheesecake is still on plain water and since turning the light up a few deficiency's are creeping in. Other than feeding the plant what is not the idea of the grow i can not see a cure here. I will top up the pot with some fresh soil to give a few more nutes.
The Cheese plant since going into the coco are coming a long nicely.

Hey Kbag,

You're plants are hungry dude :) you have early to mid onset of potassium deficiency, early signs of a N deficiency too. They need some grub and fast :) I'd start by giving them a foliar feed of something full fat like formulex, next, I would top dress with some guano and some beneficials if you want to continue with plain water or some bottled food like plagron alga grow or something they can take up pretty fast.

One other thing, in one of your photos, I can see a lower leaf with some speckling on. Is that the camera or does it look speckled because it looks like it could be something like thrip damage.

You might also want to do a slurry test as your soil PH could be out of whack and that could cause all the above too.

The Led being on is giving the wrong impression GG she is actually very Dark the speckling look's to be Calcium and the potassium on the Tips and starting to spread into the leaf margins. I am in a few minds on how to go here if there is to much nitrate this could be locking out the cal & K. i am going to take her out of the cupboard and see how she looks in the natural light and get some pics. It could be that turning the light up had made the plant suddenly uptake a lot more of certain elements especially as she is starting to true flower now. So it could be that she is hungry and if the progression gets any more aggressive it could force my hand into having to feed.

Ahh OK, yea get some natural light photos. The larger one doesn't look N deficient but the smaller ones did next to the large ones. That indeed could be light tricks :) but trust me, that ain't no calcium dammage. Calcium is immobile and starts on the new leaves. You get a kind of blistering with stunted growth and short internodes. People always get that and magnesium mixed up. Magnesium is mobile and will show itself on the lower to mid leaves with interveinal yellowing and rust spots. If that looks like it does on the photo, trust me you got bugs.

Although there's a direct relationship between N and K, based on your description of what has been used or applied, I'm 90% sure this is the soil being too acidic. This is why I encourage the slurry test as the result with either confirm or rule out that being the issue.

You're not adding any calcium supplements yet are you? Ca toxicity will lockout K real quick.

Ooof, dunno KB dude. A bit going on there, so I'd say she's locked herself up.

Looks like she's eating herself. Full of Grub though by the colour.

I'd just flush the life out of the medium and try again.

:idn:

Good luck dude.
Yeh Mo thinks the Mrs has been putting in something to kill it off  I will prob just ride it out :idn: its one of them .

Ouch kbag. Looks like it locked nutrient uptake or the medium pH is bang out of order.
