Good Evening GR420,

Thanks for popping in,

So we have a little update for you tonight.... basically they decided to ignore the bends and just stand straight back up again..... So tonight just before their feed I bent them down again gently moving the bends further up slightly now on the left one when I applied minimal pressure to the bend I heard a slight snap !!!! Upon inspection there is a small laceration to them main stem (oh fuck) I hope it will be ok also there is still some slight canoeing on the leaves I’m a bit worried about I believe it was the light being slightly too low the night they stretched but I’ll be checking back first thing in the morning !

Feeds are the same I added some liquid silicon tonight to help bind the feeds I’ll use it agin on Friday other than that tonight’s feed: 2litres each 4ml liquid silicone 8ml rhiz 1.5ml A&B EC 0.9 pH 5.8

Cheers Muncher for being on hand when needed, much appreciated chap.

Here’s some pics I took earlier..............

Thanks again

Morning mate,

Lol bends don't stop em mate just slow em down for a few hours lol, get some string and some pipe cleaners, tie the string round the pot as a anchor point then you can the em down to it, you don't need them getting too tall and not be able to fit under the screen like (I was just lucky with my 2). I know it ent easy for you to get the wood though so understand, you could ask scar face to give you a lift pmsfl.

Looking ok mate, make sure your fan is only on 1 (as it could cause wind burn) and as said raise your light it's comfortable on the back of your hand, if it's too warm for your hand it's too warm for them. Just need to try and keep a eye on it and raise when needed. You could hang something from the shade (at the comfortable height) to the top of the plants, then it's easy to see how far to move up each time if you get me..?

The split should be fine don't worry about it ;).

Nice one keep it the same and try and get some lights out pics too as it's easier to see their colours .
Keep doing what you are with the feeds .

Cheers Munch gonna go to the convenience store this afternoon and get some bits and I think I may have located some timber for the frame I’ll report back later with an update and I’ll get some lights out shots.

Also ordered the 400w blue spectrum Metal Halide bulb should be with me first thing so I’ll get that over them ASAP may help contain the stretch a bit

Cheers guys gotta run be back later

Good Morning GR420

So time for a little update............

I have had a few problems/issues & accidents with the girls the past few weeks. the dramas started about 12 days ago when i accidently snapped one of the girls a couple of nodes down from the top of the plant after 5-6 days she started to show some signs of revival and a further few days on she is happily providing more growth at various points above the snap so i think i may have just got away with it this time but a massive learning curve for sure the past 10 days have slowed progress right down. I'm also having some real issues with my temps i just can't seem to stop the spike of around 33c they are looking ok for it though apart from my third and final problem i appear to have thrips in the Groom they are feeding of the foliage and starting to dry the leaves out draining all the chlorophyll content from the leaves i need to get in there today and try to control it with a solution of organic insecticide there only appears to be a couple knocking about visually but I'm going to give the girls a real good blast to try to get the situation under control as quick as possible.

On the upside there has been some positive additions to the Grown Room: I have now installed a 100cm MaxiBright Paraboilic shade and running a 400w Blue spec Metal Halide bulb to finish the vegging process under that. I have also built the frame and installed the screen for the SCROG !!

Feeds are currently still the same but adding some liquid silicon to the schedule every Monday & Friday

I'm still giving them some LST everyday to see if i can pull them out a bit using plant bends and some pipe cleaners they actually look like they have taken a right battering lol

I'll try to get some pics up this afternoon/evening of where we are at so far.

Hope your all well, Cheers

Shit news mate! What is wrong with your luck and plants? Hopefully you get them recovered and get rid of the thrips..
Good news on the updates though, but no photos, no proof! Come on man, show us the damage and the new stuff.

Basil deters thrips.
I picked up some "live" Basil for 10p at ASDA. It was almost dead, but I brought it back to life - then took cuttings. I have about 8 pots of it growing now. I'll be using them in the poly as I always get thrips in there because of the tomatoes.

I normally don't bother with them, but plan to grow an auto in there this year.

I don't want to deter them Aspie mate I literally want to exterminate them completely lol

But that is very useful information I may just stick one outside the tent door the thing is fully grown they can fly anyway apparently so really i just need to rid them completely i reckon

One question though how do you get away with it under the poly if they're there anyway dont they suck your plants dry mate ?

Cheers Pal

In the past I haven't bothered with basil. The thrips arrive mid to late season. By then there's loads of leaves and fruit. They never touch the chillies, just the tomatoes. This is my first year growing weed in the poly, so who knows how it's going to go.
