X1 Blue Dream Auto Humboldt seeds
Recently being on lockdown and with some recent sunshine I decided to get out in the garden, dust down my little greenhouse and order some seeds. I ordered a strain i've been waiting to try, blue dream and some sweet cheese seeds (i tried this strain years ago but it had to be destroyed. I remember the pungent smell of it, even when I was reluctantly disposing of it. This made me want to try it again) so as I anticipated their arrival I got hold of some compost and pepper/chilli seeds and planted away. I would use these as cover crops to deter pests and also to cover from preying eyes.
I am usually one to plan, think properly and ensure i've done enough research to get it right. Well! I remember looking up that blue dream was around a 50/50 of sativa/indicia so i thought I may get away if careful being outdoors. The sweet cheese on the other hand was a 70% sativa and I think leaving them out in the cold/damp one night left it prone to be eaten by something. It didn't grow very well in the 1st place and looked wonky from the start! Maybe just a poor choice in genetics!
Despite all this I have one Blue Dream Auto left (seeing photo above) which is now sitting in a south facing window. Until she is too big to go outside and get introduced to the UK's lovely summer weather! Although under cover of the greenhouse, the UK can still be cold at night!
The remaining plant was the strongest of two. The other one grew horizontally in the medium so it didn't survive. Nice sturdy little pant so far for the last one standing.
I am not on the hunt for some new genetics now but amongst the madness of the Lock Down I am finding them hard to find. So I will have to keep searching. Frisian Dew, Hollands Hope and Duck from Dutch Passion looks great(suggested by someone at percy's, any suggestions?). But I may have to search harder for a heavier Indicia to suit the climate better instead as these genetics previously mentioned don't seem to be masses stock. The search will continue.
I have Ponderosa Pink Tomatoes, Cayenne Peppers and Jalapeno's all in my greenhouse. Also in the partners greenhouse she has my money maker seedlings and some gardeners delight tomatoes. So all will be a really good display to cover any weed plants I have in the greenhouse. This also goes hand in hand with my like for hot sauces and Chilli
I use compost out the bag for most of the peppers/tomatoes and for my autos I re use my old coco from my indoor grow with a mix of charge soil conditioner, life cycle (both from Ecothrive), blood meal, bone meal and Plagron worm castings. Also use kelp powder which I have purchased from an organic health store.
This may seem strong for seedlings, but I only water a very small amount around the seedlings so in theory they won't get drowned out or over fed.
I do also have some Organic Root Riot cubes to start them off. Of which I will try when more seeds arrive and I finally make my mind up on those seeds
Hope you all enjoy the read as I keep you updated throughout my grow.
Happy growing and Keep on growing.
