Chiesel grow diary

Post by Bulls »

Good afternoon Growroom420
Thought i would start my diary with the chiesel cuts as they arw now rooted well in their starter pots after starting their life in the aero prop.
I had a bit of trouble with them immediately when I took then out of the prop and moved them into starter coco pots. They literally shrinked and nearly felt like dying. And i am talking within the period of 10-15 mins. So keeno hit me up to move them into propagator again so i had to use 20 L storsge tube upside for that ans luckily they perked up well overnight under a T5 light. Thanks keeno. Ah by the way they were rooted under 4w night lamp lol.

They are now into 10l airpots filled with canna coco professional plus mixed with Ecothrive Charge and some Great white shark
First feed im final pots be 1ml per L silicone and 1 ml per liter Canna&B

Forgot to mention I will not be using root stimulator this time

Vegging is done in a custom made Roof Qube tent 1.7x0.5x1.8

Looking good! The early pictures look like they've got a magnesium deficiency but also showing signs of toxicity. What did you do think caused it? I'm interested in learning about what problems look like as I feel that's the parts you can't learn from a book.

I think it's only one plant thats got some problems but i think it's because I've used a very old pot full of coco which had already had one plant in it. Now is improving well.
Don't think any of them show signs of toxicity? What made you think they do?

Could of been the old coco. Probably needed re-charging before reuse? Coco will gobble up cal, mg and fe if all it's reserves have been depeated by the last grow. A friend re-uses his coco and he always throws it in a compost bin and use a shed load of cannazym and canna camg before re-use. The very first picture made me think it looks a toxicity. That curling and twisting of the new leaves looks like nitrogen toxicity in a couple of examples I've seen. I've read other grow diraries where people have had mg def in coco and up thr nutirients to compensate which lead to N toxicity.

Saying that, after re-reading the post I realised you said that things got worse as soon as you took them out of the propergator? I've read that could be due to root issues?

They look awesome in the later pictures though. Nice job of bringing them around.

Welcome on board Wizars, glad to have you mate.

Grumpy, not not root issues mate. I think they were just too used to high humidity in the aero prop and the change into coco stressed them out a bit. Leaves curled in and twisted immediately.

Wow they really did wilt! So did they have established roots when you took the lid off? They deffo look like they're struggling to hold onto water. That looks like they couldn't take up enough water from the media to counter balance transpiration through the leaves. How long did it take for them to recover after poping the propagator back on if you don't mind me asking?

I read that wilt is always due to the plant not being able to take up water. Sorry if this is wrong (someome correct me if I am). Cannabis relies on water pressue to keep things pointing upwards. Wilting is a symptom of the plant not being able to take water on and that leads to cell collapse hence the wilt.

They have perked up overnight but the damege was there.
I anyways do it this way - establishing roots in aero clone and then they go into well moisturized coco pots. But this time they didn't like it lol. Spraying the leaves with water ans closing them back in prop sid help.

OK, sorry for all the questions but this is how I learn. You'll probably end up banning me soon LOL.

So you took them out of the aeroclone and poped them in some old coco and this happened? That is very weird! Maybe there was some root damage or anerobic buildup in the old coco if that's the proceedure you followed. The great white and charge would of helped if that was the case.

Anyway, thanks for entertaining all the questions. They look awesome now! Looking forward to seeing them progress.
