Cole Stuffs Leggy Chem & Kush Clones into the Flower Room

Post by Cave Hill Cole »

Greetings and salutations all,

Well here are on to another dairy. So what we have here is an example of laziness on my behalf. The clones in my veg room got way to big and out of control. So I have decided to just flower them out. They were all between 5-6ft tall. So I gave them a heavy prune and leaf strip, shaved their legs and then bent them all in half. The atlas plant trainers make this really easy, they save a lot of time. once you get the hang of them.

I had a Quantum Kush clone, she didn't make it, she got to brittle and snapped in half when i was trying to bend her in half. So she's back in veg healing. All the others complied and yogae'd their way in place.

So on this grow we have the following Bodhi clones from the collection:
2 x Tang Clones https://en.seedfinder.eu/strain-info/Mo ... dhi_Seeds/
1 Black Triangle https://en.seedfinder.eu/strain-info/Bl ... dhi_Seeds/
1 Angie https://en.seedfinder.eu/strain-info/An ... dhi_Seeds/

Also on this grow I am going to give the monosilicic acid a try to see if there are any noticeable differences. I have heard really good things, its not cheap though. I found a more affordable per mil option with Super Si, its the best of what's available.

I might throw in a couple clones later, as it looks like I will have room. I have a couple F2's Tangs that i made about 2yrs ago. Selected out a male and polinated a branch of the keeper female cut. I pop some of these seed and have 2 females in veg. I might flower them out next to the mum Tang to see the difference, I think it might be helpful to observe.

Subbing up for this one cole. They do look like they have woody stems, what is not always a bad thing just makes the training a little harder.

Cheers @kbag, yes they certainly are a tad woody. I agree, I don't think I have ever found the whole "woody stems = bad quality flower" rumour/bro science to have a lot of truth to it. Other than, as you pointed out, the difficulties in training.

I think an older established plant, with a decent size pot to finish in, usually makes for a higher quality finished product. I'm sure there are probably strain dependent exceptions to this though.

Greetings all, here we are 7 days in already, time flies.

Given the extreme bending, they all took a few days to adjust. But they seem happier now, they are getting a healthy green colour and aren't drooping so much. They have settled in & enjoyed a microbe tea I brewed up. They are starting to begin vertical stem growth and the flower clusters are appearing. Now the game is to keep them all happy and the conditions consistent. I'll do periodic leaf removal up removal up until about day 21. These girls aren't that bad leaf wise, they don't look like they will need a lot of leaf work.

Greetings,

So here we are at day 13 of flower. This is just a quick update. Pretty happy with how these girls are settling. They are getting nice vertical top shoots now. There's good healthy amount of bud clusters which is always promising. Ive done a bot of sporadic leaf removal. Just fed them a weekly tea yesterday (worm casting, zoo poo, sheep pellets, fulvics, amino, kelp, fish juice, molasses) which i bumbled for 2 and half days.

I also put in a Gelato OG that i had in the veg room. This girl is pretty old about 10months, and she got root bound in a party cup. Any way I have put her in a big pot and put her in the corner. Be interesting to see what I get out of her. The Tangs and Black TK are looking healthy and happy.

Cheers @Keeno & @Mrs Beefheart i'm getting greedy again and stuffing big plants in small places. Fingers crossed as always.

I'm just coming into week 3. I did res change yesterday and I added the PK. I'll run it for just a week at 1.5ml per litre. Usually I add it in small amounts throughout the grow. This time I am just going to try adding for one week at a heavier amount. The rest of the nutrient schedule as remained the same. I added another microbe tea today.

The plants are looking good. The tang on the right side of the tent (under the 650R) has been getting some light burn/bleaching to the leaves. They look like they are getting a slight nitrogen deficiency to them. I turned the light down again, its now at 48%, lets see if that helps improve things. The plant looks happy regardless.
