@2-Scoops do you have to swap bulbs out or can you use same bulb whole way through?

No if ya get a dual spectrum bulb theirs no need that contains blue and red light for veg and bloom. My ballast is a 600watt adjustable digi ballast so i can run azt 250, 400 or 600 watts with extra super lumens, so i need correct bulbs for wattage i use, so i veg up with a 250mh (blue light) and bloom with a 400 red spec or dual spectrum bulb. I could just use 400 dual spec all way through, but it saves alot of money vegging with 250 mh through out year. Tbh it will more than likely cost you quite a bit more all year round to run with the 4 leds on full (400 watts) that we`ve been talking about in your thread than it would myself running with hps bulbs this way.

You gotta love some plant brutality and you certainly give them a good hiding . It's amazing what they will take and bounce back from. You just need to get over that first time doing it. I think I learnt from snapping a plant in half and it stood back up next day

Yes for sure they lovbe a bit of not so gentle abuse , i do like to see a proper snapped stem just about hanging on plant thats taped back and regrown, pretty snazzy stuff.

@2-Scoops this is the one I have brought, I have two of them on order I don’t quite understand what you mean as I’m very very new to hps also how far away from plants do you need to hang hps? Thank you again for help

Also can I run this bulb that comes with them for whole grow as can’t afford other bulbs etc atm as got to insulate shed also

The bulb will do both veg and flower its a dual sopectrum bulb, but tis really a waste of money in electric, look for some 250watt mh bulbs when ya get some cash. Then again you could prolly use your current leds light for vegging plants up to save on leccy and cash.

18inches down to 15inches whilst vegging then reset to 18inches and flowering 15inches down to 12 inches before restting. Always have a fan blowing inbetween lights and canopy blowing across horizontally. That`s for full sized vegging and flowering plants you will fry smaller seedling plants its too intense so needs setting as high as it will go if running a 600hps over seedlings, then again i`d be using those 2 led you have for vegging plants up @Stickylemonz

I didn`t mean that i mean`t either or, so basically veg them up with 250mh bulbs or either use those leds to veg plants up instead before switching to 600hps for flowering.

Then again you could also do it the way you put it across to me which in all honesty i think is prolly best idea So veg young seedlings under one of those leds, then when they`re in full on veg put them under 250mh bulbs before switching out to a 600hps for flowering.

All those 3 ways will will save cash on electric whilst plants are in veg.

2 x 250mh bulbs which are full on blue spectrum light for vegging nice plants that have plenty of roots. When you get that far I'm sure peeps will help ya out, just shout . Same questions though man, i don`t know how to be much clearer. All good stuff

Use your dual spec 600hps that come with lights you buying and which are more red spectrum light for flowering. Switch the bulbs out at 2 weeks into 12/12 when you see pom-pom type buds start to appear.

It`s how I'd do it myself other peeps may differ, but I'm a tight coont and like to save a few pennies on leccy if i can.

And sorry for this but, use 250 blue lights right till two weeks into 12/12 then switch for the ones that come with my light on 600w for rest of flower?

Theirs no point using a 400 cus 2 x 250mh (metal halide) will veg them up just as good and more or less just as fast give or take a few minutes, but smaller plants won`t be able to use all light from 2 x 400mh bulbs or more powerful lighting, they will when bigger and have shed loads of foliage, but you`ll be putting them under 250 when they`re not biggest in world, so its just a waste of money, so why blow cash on leccy if theirs no need.

Yes its more or less what i do mate.

Flowered under a 400dual spectrum hps bulb.
