Re: Flavour Chasers, Perfect Tree & Purple City Genetics in coco
Day 23, lights maxed up to 100% a couple of days ago and no issues so far. Feeds are still twice daily with 1 ml/l of The End at EC 1.0, pH 6.2 with some BAM in the tank. I did a root drench three days ago with kelp. Plants are all in rude health, so GHO's The End is really doing the business and I'm giving away all my other nutrients and additives to a friend.
Funny how the only indica-dom there has stretched more than all the sativa-doms.

Re: Flavour Chasers, Perfect Tree & Purple City Genetics in coco
Day 32, coco has started drying out a bit between feeds so increased from 2 to 3 per day at 1 ml/l pH 6.2. I stopped measuring the EC because The End measures low compared to other brands while doing the job perfectly, suggesting it's extremely efficient.
A fair bit of defoliation was done, only removing larger fan leaves that were blocking bud sites.
I had a problem with an eggy smell I mentioned in another thread and found the culprit - I hadn't tightened the thread sufficiently on my drip manifold and it had been leaking. When I took that apart the thread was oozing with stinky, impenetrable biofilm gunge. I also used a tee instead of an elbow to connect to the manifold, with a piece of pipe bent over and zip tied as an end-stop, as that's all I had at the time. Because the smell was only coming from the first drops of solution coming out the drip pipes I had a theory that bad shit might be pooling in that end section of pipe. I was almost right but replaced the tee with an elbow just in case and tightened it properly. I replaced all the feed pipes too, soaked in iso, then hot water and silver bullet. No more eggy!

Re: Flavour Chasers, Perfect Tree & Purple City Genetics in coco
Hello GR420, it's been a while and I've been slacking with my diaries. I think this will be my last diary because growing has become somewhat of a chore for me lately - lots of effort for little reward, lots of tiny popcorn that's a pain to trim or not even worth trimming. While the quality is there, my grows have not been yielding well for about three years now and I've been struggling with a few issues, so thinking of calling it a day, at least until I move house.
Thanks to everyone who looked, liked and commented.
@Keeno or @Mrs Beefheart, please move this to completed diaries.

Sorry to hear this mate I hope you are ok,as for your yields you should go back to when your yields started to decline and look at what you've changed ,lighting, feeds whatever and go back to your old more successful ways sometimes there's a lot to be said for going back to basics nothing fancy just a and b and a watering can . I hope you regain your love for this brilliant hobby and see you on here again after you've had a break good luck mate hopefully cu soon

Re: Flavour Chasers, Perfect Tree & Purple City Genetics in coco
Thanks mate, I really appreciate that. I'm OK, just a bit pissed off. I've tried to keep things as simple as possible this time, just using GHO's The End and not much else, so this is probably as basic as it gets in terms of feeding. It's nothing to do with the products I'm using but likely an environmental thing in my place. Myself and very experienced growers have racked our brains but nobody knows for sure what the issue is. My VPD is dialled, I'm not over/under-watering or over/under-feeding. The weird thing is the plants looks super healthy, like they have high brix and the roots remain almost pure white right until the end. I was growing very successfully for more than 30 years and never had such issues until recently, so it's very strange.Wrh wrote: ↑Thu Jul 27, 2023 5:50 pmSorry to hear this mate I hope you are ok,as for your yields you should go back to when your yields started to decline and look at what you've changed ,lighting, feeds whatever and go back to your old more successful ways sometimes there's a lot to be said for going back to basics nothing fancy just a and b and a watering can . Thngs all went tits up once I switched from Canna Terra Pro Plus soil with BioBizz, to using GHO's soil in no-till method. I had an aphid problem then and no-till was starting to become popular, so being the type who likes to experiment with new things I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to change. Since then my yields have been very poor with a high leaf to bud ratio, but it's not the soil or method, because I effectively moved my entire grow (same soil, pots, light, extractor, tent and strains from clones) to a very inexperienced neighbour across the way and he's having great success with massive donkey dick buds. This is not due to any skills he has because he has none when it comes to growing cannabis - I've pretty much done it for him. So it makes me think it must be some kind of miasma or curse in my flat, not that I believe in either of those, but it surely is something very weird.
I considered going back from coco in 6 L pots to Canna soil in 16 L pots, but using The End instead of BioBizz, because BioBizz Grow smells of death, but I will try one more run in coco, maybe handwatering, although I'm not convinced anything I do will fix it. I'm almost sure it's a problem with my environment.
I'm not going away yet and may still post the odd photo or music video from time to time.
