You dont ant to be scrogging the auto`s mate. Issue is they will be in flower in 3-5 weeks. Some growers will top autos and apply some lst, but thats about as far as you go with them. There isnt time for heavy training.
You know I been thinking about that. The 1st 2 autos I done I did LST on them. I did top them and they turned out great.

The King Tut has a lifespan of just over 4 months seed to finish as an auto.

The Speed Bud from seed to harvest is about 12 weeks they say, it is quick.

I will leave the screen for the photoperiods once I get the rest of the seeds from my winnings!

Thanks for the heads up. Topping and LST is what I will do on the king tut. With the Speed Bud being such a fast growing plant with such a short lifecycle, I will avoid topping her and just stick to LST on the 3 of them once they are ready.

Thanks buddy :)
No worries man, didnt want you getting into trouble half way through. Some guys dont even like to top but i have with no issues and im sure it increases yield. Your seeds shouldn't be long mate, bloody nightmare this international delivery. Im looking into gift cards from our sponsors so you guys can buy what you want and it comes directly from them.

Morning everyone!

Well the buds are dry and have been placed in the jar for curing

I ended up with a total of 23g off this girl. Less than I wanted but more than I expected at the end.

Here is a little nug shot. Will probably try a small sample today to see how it burns, or let it cure for a week before sampling, see what happens when I get off work...

Either way this journal is a wrap. Thanks for sticking around and watching even if there was nothing but problems...onto the next grow...see ya there :)

Congratulations on the harvest. Hope you enjoy the fruits of your hard work :)
I will move that the the completed diaries section, and will be looking for a fresh diary of yours!
Also would you mind writing a review on the strain once it's cured properly? (if it lasts you that long lol)

Sure thing, I will def write a review on the strain. It will last me, I have a small popcorn size piece out for tomorrow. The rest is being stored away. i got lots of smoke so I dont need to ruin it by smoking it before ready.

New journal has also been posted!

Nice work @islandgrower!

I saw that you had some issues with roots within your DWC. IMO 22-25C wouldn't cause a massive problem with rot and this could be something else. Under 20C and uptake is affected and slows the plant down. Temps over 28C will start to affect you and over 30C will limit the amount of DO the water can hold.

The thing with liquid oxygen is it disappears fast. And I mean FAST. If there is plenty of microlife in the water due to rot then it will all be gone in under 24 hours. You might want to look at using silver peroxide as the silver stabilises the peroxide and it hangs about for longer. Another awesome product is Microbial. That stuff works great and will also hang about for much longer. Microbial will also leave a coating on the plastics and roots

I was discussing root rot issues in DWC with a pal a few months ago and he said something interesting that made perfect sense to me. Higher EC for a prolonged period will produce a lush looking plant but will weaken the roots inviting rot. He's managed to limit the outbreaks by starting at a low EC of ~1.0EC when they're young and keeping things topped up regularly to avoid spikes. Then only nudge up very slightly if he sees the lower leaves yellowing off. He said that he's only hitting a max EC of 1.4EC at peak (around week 3 of flower) and tethers that down a little to 1.2EC when adding boom boosters.
Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities.
