Re: Old School Crew Grow
Greetings all,
So here we are at week 9. We just went back into a lockdown, so on the plus side that's more garden time. Tomorrow I am going to harvest the Bubblegum, Dark Star and MOB.

My Angelica is going great guns...I love OG's...but they are a pain to grow, as you can see below, they often come out like a tall hedge with buds popping out of everywhere. In comparison the bubblegum has a perfect short, but not squat, structure that self supports the buds. But hey, I absolutely love the strength and profile of OG's so we do what we gotta do, if we want it in our head stash. She has a strong lemon, musk, spice, dank hash smell.

The hammer was chopped last week at day 55 (pictures below), it was by far the fastest to the finish line. Beautiful smelling plant, it smelt very sweet and berry like, with slight lemon tinge and a strong funk "dank" smell. Can't wait to put it through the smoke test. The buds took on a strong purple hue late in flower.

The Bubblegum is a pretty plant, it was a pleasure to grow. It has great big flowers and a unique smell. Right now it doesn't smell like hubba bubba bubblegum, or that pink bubblegum you got in garbage gang/pail kids. Instead it has a strong sweet rubber smell.

The Dark Star has beautiful chunky buds, the smell is subdued, but hashy with a slight coffee smell believe it or not. The flowers have gone all purple and pretty. The bracts are just enormous.

The MOB didn't really get enough light on this run, she got shaded out by the other big plants. So the buds are that thick and nuggy, but the smell is still straight berry jam. She's the best smelling in the room. Will definitely grow her out on another run before I pass judgement.

See ya on the run

Re: Old School Crew Grow
Cheers man I appreciate it. The dynamite is good, she has popped and is a little 5cm tall seedling...good thing they grow up fast eh haha. I've been on the hunt for some good old school NL genes for awhile. Like all named strains, it seems like you have to grow out a cross section/different seed co's and go through different phenos/genomes before you can really know it. My personal project goals in this hobby has been to go back and try as many of the famed "named strains of old"...if possible. I've always thought if I understand the history first, I'll understand and appreciate contemporary cannabis more

Re: Old School Crew Grow
Totally agree. My idea was to try the strains from my misspent youth but it's not that easy.Cave Hill Cole wrote: ↑Thu Aug 19, 2021 9:09 amCheers man I appreciate it. The search is pretty good fun though
Hope you get an explosive result from the dynamite.

How are these getting on @Cave Hill Cole. I imagine you been getting all kinds of sticky trimming some?

Re: Old School Crew Grow
The hammer has been hanging for 2 weeks, the bubblegum, MOB & Dark Star have been hanging for a week, they need another week or so to hang. I'll trim & jar the hammer tomorrow I reckon, my Angie is about to come down as she's looking pretty well there.
Its early days in the cure but the hammer is a solid potent smoke. Has a sweet, dank smell & taste, im guessing that's the myercene. It absolutely stunk while it hung dry...it was hanging in a tent with carbon filter...& you could still smell the fresh weed smell right at my front door for the first 3 or 4 days. I'm running all 3 phenos in this next run, I really need to select just 1 of the 3 due to space issues....always space issues in growing eh.
I'll post a smoke report of the other 3 shortly.
