Smashed Cake

Do a couple of real old-school strains @anova.330. Get that mojo back. I chased new stuff for a while and was always disappointed tbh. I run 3 old school back to back and it was a breath of fresh air. White widow, northern lights and critical. All stable and solid plants. It's good to hunt the new stuff but sometimes the tried and tested ones are needed and give us a headache free grow.

Good point Keeno. I need to mellow out and find something in these Brandon Rust crosses. If not, back to the classics I'll go.

Still got a few more packs of Brandon's gear creeping up my back. And I think I will continue following Brandon's gear. Next time I buy elsewhere, I'm going AK Bean Brains (plenty of NL variants, Matanuska Thunder-fuck, and top tier crosses) and Bodhi (I feel I can follow him easily to understand his crosses).

Back to my current moanings, three out of four smashed cake phenotypes will hit the garbage upon finish. One of them, pheno 3, might be smokable. Two tents, two harvests with one plant resulting over two months. Culled next round and remaining clones. Sucks but we move on...

Are they not good enough to make a extract or hash run? Saves just throwing them out.

Let's put it this way:
1. Almost decarbed it last night to make butter. Not sure I may still go that route.
2. Never made hash before and wouldn't out of this shit.
3. Any refinement toward the flavor of this strain would be criminal.

OK so even though I hate this strain, it’s raining, I’m shaking, I’m bored, glasses are broke, here’s a quick tour of Phenos 3 and 4 @D37. I dedicate this video to Karaoke partner GMO; he picked the plant for a topping and a little more veg (pheno 3)…and he also picked the music. Albeit, unknowingly. Hairy vetch on the left needs managed but I think a crimson clover is coming up…or wheat…if you catch it?

These two are a bit different. #3 has a light fruity smell...which will hopefully make it smokable. #4 has another nothing smell like the first two but (just a note) wont senesce colors later in flower. Either way, I don't have any cuts to flower this later if I want. Oh well...

Day 45(3&4)
Capt. Beefheart: not as pretty as the first two pheno’s but I didn’t burn anything! This is phenos 3&4 from L-R in living soil; #3 smells like it’s gonna be ok to smoke. The #4 cut smells like nothing – I’ll be back in a few weeks to confirm.

These are coming down today, Day 67 of the flower run. Most the buds are fox-tailing a bit; although I’ve reduced light hours to 10/14 this last week to finish. One single cola showing light burn at the very tip. Pheno #3 (L) seems like it has some promise based on the scent – only got about half this plant though (very limp). Pheno #4 (R) seems like it is going to be a dud. No plan to update anything else on this run, but ask me in the chatroom in about a week and I will tell ya how they are.
