Mommas attempt at RSO

Post by MommaB »

Well here goes nothin...so while I get prescribed Marinol man made thc pill I prefer to make my own oil to make into pills.
So I used my trim from last grow. I first ground the trim up to help get coverage. Was in oven at 200 for 1 hour.I then gave the trim a bath in 99.9% iso. I washed the trim making sure I pulled as much from the plant as I could. Once done I strained the soaked trim in cheese cloth getting all the liquid and none of the plant material. I poured the liquid in a glass jar and cooked it in a instapot with several inches of water on the bottom of pot. It can take several hours to cook down the iso to where it leaves you with a tar like concentrate at the bottom. It is important to make sure you boil all the iso out. for those who hate to read I made ya a step by step in pictures you’re welcome

My process adds one more step to make sure they are fully decarbed. In fact, with this last step, you can even skip the early decarb process although I don't. Cos it just means a longer time for the last step.

After you collect from your pot, Leave in oven at 250F until it stops bubbling. Usually around an hour or more depending on how soon I remove from pot. I've heard that a vacuum oven is best but I've never tried. Adding this last step also makes sure you leave as little ISO behind as possible.

Not sure how long yours cooks but mine cooked the iso off in like 13 hours no quick process. I’ve not ever seen anyone put it in the oven after you collect it. everyone has there own steps I would think.

You've not seen Rick Simpson do it, among others? Watch his videos. He explains why but I already did too. My apologies for butting in. Good luck

Guess not I can’t see why it would be necessary tho as the rso comes out very strong and works like a charm.
