Hi Kbag,

Its the Ionic Hydro Hardwater Grow & Bloom I am using, rather that the coco nutes, I have tried both, but because these are formulated for hardwater I have stuck with these now for a while :)

I have pretty much had to add 10ml of grow every day this week, as the ec is dropping, hungry bastards these!

Thanks for looking in fella :)

The Ionic Hydro range do a hw /sw range unfortunately they just do grow and bloom for coco. Saying that i am sure the hydro range works in coco as i have used the canna Aqua range with coco with good results. Plant magic do a HW/SW coco range but they are A & B grow and A&B Bloom so two part.

I would go with Kbag, really any EC over 0.3 would be considered hard, or very hard, mine is genereally 0.6.

With hardwater nutes theres less chance of the calcium thats contained in your base tap water to end up as limescale in the bottom of yer reservoir :)

Interesting discussion here. What would you classify as soft and hard water to decide which nutrients to use?

My tap water is the same as yours Sam. To be honest I've tried both and find no difference. I can grow with both products with similar results. I usually split my nutrients with a mate and we get 10L bottles of A&B. Then it cost us about 25£ each for 5L A&B. Not bad at all. I also noticed I used much larger amounts of the Ionic stuff so I guess final calculations of cost of nutrients will be similar.

Hey Bulls,

I am trying my best to keep a note of exactly what nutes I am using this grow, so I can do a bit of a cost analysis at the end. This is really only out of interest to those who are maybe thinking of recirculating.

Most feeds in the last 4 weeks I reckon I have used an average of around 40ml of Ionic per feed, so essentially in veg I will probably use around 200ml of Ionic. This will be roughly the same in flower, so a litre will last me 5 grows of 4 plants roughly. So about £2 a grow for veg, £2 for bloom, or 50p per plant lol

When I get to the end of the grow, I will tally everything up and do a costing, will be intersting to see :)

Evening Folks,

So catching up on a few posts tonight, so thought I might as well do my weekly post on nutreints used. So I mixed up 50 litres as usual tonight, as below:

Base EC = 0.6
EC = 1.3
Ph = 6.0

50ml Ionic Hardwater Grow
3tsp Amino Acids
1 tsp RAW Kelp Extract
1/2tsp RAW Humic Acid
25ml Liquid Silicon

So its my third week of feeds, so as per 3 weeks ago, I am adding some extra vitamins, I am not making the mistake with amino acids again, as previously I dropped it back to 1tsp and dropped the PM Root Stim, and had some yellow tips. This time I increased the amino acids by a tsp.

The reason for this is I plan on flipping come Friday, so over the next couple of weeks I really want to load the nitrogen into the plants.

All looking good in the hood, Pictures and a Friday flip video this week, downhill till the weekend :)

Happy Friday folks :)

So my usual weekly picture update, its flip day in the Shire so these will be on 12/12 from tomorrow :)

This is the last comparrison pictures I will do, as these are getting too big to tell which is which plant, so going forward it will be just a picture of the plants weekly.

I will do a video tomorrow, as I have a couple of things I want to explain :)

So here are the pictures, I have included one of when they were potted up, which was exactly a month ago today :)

23rd October

6th November

23rd November

I will be adding 25ml of PK 13/14 to the reservoir tomorrow :)

Have a good one folks :)

Thanks for looking in folks :)

I added 25ml of PK 13/14 last evening, I have also upped the lights to 500w now for the rest of flower, I may even make 600w this grow, but if I have to stay at 500w I will be happy :)

Have a good Sunday, I will be doing the video tomorrow, as not sure I will get time today :(
