Im using beauveria bassiana but it comes from AZ USA so can get expensive, also frass and neem cake can deter them when used as a topdress. bug clear guns have an organic version as well. neem oil is most peoples go to in veg but alot dont use it cos the smell is pretty offensive. google organic aphid controls and you have millions of options

Re: Going organic
Probably the best option imho is ladybird larvae. Get them in now if available and watch em flyGMO wrote:looks like aphids to me buddy

Re: Going organic
If you're making a spray peppermint, thyme, cedar, rosemary oils mixed together with some eco friendly soap liquid and rapeseed oil as a carrier might work. All have different compounds that pests hate. But if you're going down the ladybird larvae route don't do a spray as it'll affect them too. On those pots I'd go for the larvae first. They'll eat all of them in a few days.

Re: Going organic
yeah agreed. with the pots as they are, it could be well worth cutting back the cover crops and composting them rather than chop and drop. so whatever you choose to use has less foliage to cover

Re: Going organic
About once every 3-6 weeks mate. Mix 129g to a litre of hot water gradually while stirring vigorously till fully dissolved. Then dilute from that @1-5ml per litre. Mix in a gram of the triad kelp before use and you're gold.WeedJunkie wrote:I haven't used it yet mate, was wondering when I was meant to use this one lolGHO wrote:How are you mixing the humic chaps?

Re: Going organic
I've been thinking about your mite issues buddy this week buddy and was wondering if siting pots on top of diatomaceous earth would be a preemptive strike with the crawling mofos everyone gets from time to time? Won't help with fungus gnats but anything that's gotta crawl to a pot then up the side of it will look like it's starred in Halloween for the insect cinemaGMO wrote:looks like aphids to me buddy

Re: Going organic
For aphids I have used a squirt of the fairy up liquid mixed in with some boiled up chilli water.
Spray bottle and away you go.
Watch your eyes and wash your hands well before going to the toilet.
Get some yellow sticky traps around the plants too, bugs like yellow stuff.

Re: Going organic
maybe a very good idea. ive released predators so wouldnt wanna stop them moving between pots tbh but its well worth considering depending what else is in useGHO wrote: ↑Fri Jan 29, 2021 12:49 pmI've been thinking about your mite issues buddy this week buddy and was wondering if siting pots on top of diatomaceous earth would be a preemptive strike with the crawling mofos everyone gets from time to time?
