Re: a Little bit of Sherbet
I used to get a fair bit of salt in there when I was overfeeding by mistake. A circulator helped though. But I pulled that and the heater out. My average change of res was once per week of a 20l fill with 2 plants in the system

Re: a Little bit of Sherbet
I used canna notes
Ph fluctuation going up for me in hard water was steady. If I started at 5.8/6 the max it would get to would be 6.5. I didn't bother adjusting at all and it did okay apart from other issues which were unrelated me thinks.

Re: a Little bit of Sherbet
my ph swing can be as high as 7.2 i check it every other day and adjust if needed. Im only feeding at 1.5ml on a and b so i dont think im hitting her too hard.
Im probably using 10 ltr a week atm, its started to take up more but perhaps i will drop to just mixing 10ltrs rather than 20ltr.
Ive ordered a small fish tank pump to keep the water moving so i will see if that makes any difference.
Going to try the end on the next run, GHO says that should be all i need so i'd like to try that and see how it goes.

Re: a Little bit of Sherbet
fitted the small pump last night, its only a usb powered job but seems to keep things moving. Will monitor over the next week or so and see what happens. Gotta love a bit of trial and error lol

Re: a Little bit of Sherbet
still getting massive PH swing, was at near 8 last night so knocked it down to 6.2 again. might do a res change as the water is a bit murky. Plant seems happy though, so fuck knows lol

Re: a Little bit of Sherbet
When you get a big ph swing, do you give it a good stir and dip it again to see what it lands on before adding more ph- ? Why i here ya say, well i really think that ph- acid drops out of water literally and good stir will sometimes bring it back together good without need for adding more.

Re: a Little bit of Sherbet
perhaps i dont stir it enough? ive got a little fish tank pump in so the water should be moving all the time really. I will give it a good old stir again when i get home and check. Thanks for the tip bud
